Quick medic question

Post by Jroinc1 » 27 Nov 2017, 18:23

When's the last time any of you have needed to use a pill bottle of dylovene (Antitox)?

I just noticed I haven't needed it since I started playing again recently. I know it's uses, I've just haven't seen them needed lately.

I find I don't NEED it often, but I take one in my load out. The rare OD is what I use it for.

Eh, I just haven't seen an OD severe enough that tricord won't handle it in a while.

Most of the time I agree, though I caught a new medic shoveling handfuls of pills into someone because they didn't know they took a second to kick in.

I never take Dylovene. It's extremely rare to find a Marine with toxin damages. Unless they were OD'd by a incompetent medic, took something they shouldn't have, or have damage to their liver. But even then all it takes is time, some perixadon and more time before that toxin damage drops to normal levels (like 15 below) Nothing to worry about, their body eventually will filter it out. No point in wasting that 1 space for Dylovene when I can take Dexalin, which is by far more useful & I've had to use it several times, versus something that is fairly rare and not really life threatening.. unless they fuck up of course..

Actual situation: Command banned peri distribution, marine got internal liver damage, causing toxin damage to accrue over time. Use dylovene to keep the marine alive till medivac'd.

NB: I would have administered dylo after peri if peri got approved to remove residual toxin damage.

I take one bottle for emergencies. I usually have to fix at least one or two cases every time I drop, and while it's true it'll filter out eventually, I want to get people in tip-top shape ASAP so they're not dragging their feet everywhere.

Never. Even as a doctor, I barely use anti-toxin because toxin damage is harder to come by.
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

Its rare as a condition, usually its a side effect of overdosing or if certain organs are damaged (I imagine liver or something), even then the toxin damage is usually minimal, from 0.1 to 10 damage at the most. I typically take one pill bottle of Dylo as a medic.

Of course it suddenly becomes the most important chemical you can get if the Xenomorphs are replaced with swiggity snakes.

What it looks like I'm seeing is that it sees very little use, but can be useful in very specific situations if there is no perdiox allowed, which kinda matches my experiences.
I'm prob gonna switch it outta my loadout.

Had one case a round ago, Guy was either hit and healed, or had been eating floor pills. Showed up to me with 90green on him and getting worse, so popped on pill into him, it buys all the time you need to look him over, figure its an internal injury another medic has healed off him (he had no brute on him at the time) and then to Peri him afterwards.
