People should note that bayonets do not offer any benefit when it comes to clearing weeds, only resin structures; for clearing basic weeds just about anything works as well.

I don't put a bayonet on the M41 which I usually keep on single fire to poke skittish spitters at the edge of my visibility.
I fit the shotgun holster onto the back with a bayonet for anything that gets within half a screen. The stock attachment does boost your melee damage in exchange for reducing the rate of fire to make it a better gunspear but i'm not sure if its worth it. Not enough practice with this since. Anyway, I recomend keeping the satchel/mulepack in hand and full of flare boxes to spread around after the drop to make up for not holding many of these.

Finishing off stunned xenos from shotgun buckshots? Otherwise, I don't see much use, if not cutting your way from someone's belly inside out.

I've killed a mature crusher with a bayonet,you can use it in close xenos,finishing enemies without wasting ammo or making noises and cleaning weeds without using the boot knife so you can shoot if something gets close

I usually use it to accidentally stab the marine who stepped onto the weeds I was cutting.

If you want to go full on bayonet, add a stock, deals more melee damage then add a gyro, then just top it off with a QF, you'd probably accidently kill marines and somehow survive a ravager pounce or something.

The point of bayonets is to increase melee damage

How useful is that on xenos? Go figure. (its not)

I dont like the accuracy loss though so i wont put it on. (The bullet narrowly misses Young Hunter(420).)

The next round I'm aCO, you can guarantee I am gonna issue crates of bayonets and hyperzine to the planet, then have a full assault bayonet charge. It's a beautiful idea, but the marines would pussy out.

Make sure to be planet side to issue an if move order marines would move at Mach speeds.
Also anybody know if the bayonet pouch is useful in any way. I honestly wish we could just strap the boot knife on there without the coils.

I once used all 3 bayonets in them to kill a hivelord and a runner once, kept on dropping them and I just kept on pulling more out.

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. When you down them with whatever and run outta ammo, you can always rely on your rusty, trusty bayonet. Plus, you're inevitably gonna end up matched with a xeno that's worse than you, in which the case the damage boost is no joke.
