Medic challenge
Anyone go see Hacksaw Ridge?
Well I have a challenge for you. Be the best medic you can be, but you're not allowed to use a gun. Infact, avoid touching guns unless it's to give a marine his weapon.
Remember, it's against your religion to even think of firing a gun, so don't do it.
All non gun weapons are allowed (like machetes and fists)

Re: Medic challenge
I haven't done this without OWNING a gun, but I have been in games where I have never had to use it. But I'll take it on.

Re: Medic challenge
Same, Many rounds I'll never fire mine.
Though honestly, deploying without a way to keep the zippy little red bastards off of you, cause ya know they head hunt medical folks, is a little silly.

Re: Medic challenge
If the engineers are good and they've properly fortified the path between the frontlines and FoB (and maintained it) then medics need no guns. But it's rarely the case, as often you have to evac marines while healing them only to get ambushed by red bastards in the dark.

Re: Medic challenge
While I do often go without firing a gun, warning shots are INCREDIBLY useful for a medic. Xenos are skittish guys and if you take a few pot shots at them before they get into pounce range they'll often keep their distance. Unless you got bailed on by the squad or are overrun, then a gun won't stop the inevitable.
Going pacifist would be a novel thing to RP, you could haul more meds without the gun and ammo. You will be less robust though, a squad mate being mauled is as good as dead if you can't shoot. So no solo heroics, you NEED the other marines for covering fire. While that is how it should be, we all should know how things go when two boilers gas your line, a crusher breaks through, the queen screeches, and a ravenger takes a liking to your hands.

Re: Medic challenge
I already do this half the time, it is either no gun or AT MOST a standard issue pistol.

Re: Medic challenge
Have done this in the past without this challenge and let me tell you. It is difficult if you are pulling wounded back and forth or resupplying from the front lines to the FOB if the road is left unfortified and unmanned. You will most likely will just get ambushed by some sneaky xeno. Anyways at that rate if you aren't carrying a weapon, you might as well just lose the armour if you must since it will only slow you down and if you are running around with no weapon then speed is key. The only good part of not carrying a weapon is that you don't need ammo which would take up precious space for meds.

Re: Medic challenge
The armour does have two item slots and provides the exo slot. But then again, I've had a few times where it would have been a good idea to remove the armour and RUN. Being a medic paints a big bullseye for the xenos, probably why i've seen some medics ditch the gear that identifies them as one.Counter-Terrorist wrote: ↑06 Jan 2018, 14:00Have done this in the past without this challenge and let me tell you.
