I considered the images as : Marines are north, Xenos are south.

Always force the Xenos to expose themselves if they want to attack your cades. You'll have more chance to fire at them and killing them. If you grant them easy covers, they'll eat you up slowly but surely.

Re: A couple tactically sensible 'cade layout tips
Im curious, as marines instinctively huddle up on the Fortification's space, they are less protected when standing directly on it.
Has anybody tried making a double cade strength wall? with only a single/no space in between and allow the marines to stay behind a thicker bulkhead.

Yes, a buffer line is reasonably common.Skimmy2 wrote: ↑28 Feb 2018, 14:20Im curious, as marines instinctively huddle up on the Fortification's space, they are less protected when standing directly on it.

Re: A couple tactically sensible 'cade layout tips
Worthy of note: If you put two walls in a row (like two layers of sandbags for example) I can't shoot over them with my SADAR. If there is no way to reach the second layer of walls, no one can repair it either, and I literally can't bring heavy weapons on the aliens.

Re: A couple tactically sensible 'cade layout tips
Refer to my post above. That makes it hard to repair the walls and impossible to use heavy weapons like the SADAR over them (tho a single space is fine assuming you have 1 or preferably a few entrances to access that second space)Skimmy2 wrote: ↑28 Feb 2018, 14:20Im curious, as marines instinctively huddle up on the Fortification's space, they are less protected when standing directly on it.

Re: A couple tactically sensible 'cade layout tips
If all of the cades face the same way, dont the projectiles just keep going? Dont see why a SADAR would hit the cade but nothing else.
Likewise you shouldnt be out repairing the first line of cades during an assualt, let them take damage and you can just funnel the xenos into a kill box if they try to commit to a breach.

Not sure what two kind of two layers of cades you are referring to but I would imagine the following one is fine to fire over and can be repair (if the sandbags are metal/plasteel).QuackingFlack wrote: ↑21 Mar 2018, 16:40Refer to my post above. Re: A couple tactically sensible 'cade layout tips
yeah the chechmark one is fine, The X one is not because anywhere I fire the SADAR will just detonate against the sandbags

I'm also interested in whether/why they would hit correctly-faced barricades.

EXOTICISME wrote: ↑28 Feb 2018, 08:57Oh well, sorry for being slightly aggresive then. I got some bad experience with marines and their complaint. Once when i play engineer i tried to do some new cades layout for the sake of researching the best placement, but this PFC keep shouting in radio about how retarded i am to the whole squad instead of giving constructive opinion.
Which why im a filthy benos main now
Don't mind them ... Just do your job and tell 'em how they should've volunteered for engineer if they are so outspoken about it.
But if you want to meme you tell the SO they are insulting a superior rank and you want them reported to a MP.
