Share us your stories, did it have an arr pee reason, or did you think the order was just plain shit? Did you express your discontent publicly or were you silent about it?

Christine once ordered me and the Alpha boys to our doom on big red once.

Sat and played blackjack at the FoB with the boys.

LV, CO ordered Alpha to hold Cargo. As a PFC, I went to the hydro to drag wounded back to LZ1 (before casevac update). Cargo fort was ultimately abandoned.

Big Red: Alpha, Bravo and Delta were getting mauled at lambda, a retreat wasnt even going to be an option since they were surrounded and dying en masse.
CO orders Charlie to reinforce: I had 5 marines available including myself.

Just silently went "fuck that, not gonna get slaughtered in that mess" and continued to hold the FoB for the few stragglers that made it back.
One or two marines made it to our lines, we retreated five minutes later.

I disobey CO orders frequently because they are either completely out of whack with the actual situation dirtside or they seem to be designed to let the marines fail in record time.
Sometimes it feels like the whitelist for CO's is made up of trollers
XO's are usually more competent.

I try and make a point (at least with characters like Gunshow, who are too dumb to see when things are going tits-up) to follow even the worst orders, especially bald SLs and SOs. If nobody ever does what they say, they'll get frustrated, they'll stop playing SL/SO, and we'll never get any fresh blood in those roles.

I went on to lead a bad ass Alpha squad to victory.

I don't blame COs/XOs for having bad orders since they are usually out of the loop on the current operation.

Buuuut, sometimes a CO will give an order which is 100% guaranteed to cause mass-death and immediate defeat, I.E. have the entire platoon go down a single ladder in single file on Ice.

4, maybe 5.

Half of the time. Shitty SL orders.
Rest of the time, shitty CIC orders or, considered by me as shitty (which doesn't make them shitty objectively).

Sometimes late at night when I play I forget to look at the radio until suddenly I see "you have been marked for insubordination" and realise I was off doing my own thing while the LT, SL and half the squad were trying to get my attention.

16 times and all of them were because I didn't feel like going through with them. I'm not going to obey an order to allow the MTs to build a bar in the Hangar. I'm not going to obey an order to let a Predator kill a Marine and drag their body away (ignoring the fact that this is just OOC). I ignore orders because the person who gave them is just toeing the line on power-meta or simply being moronic.

Every round where command tries to stick medics on FOB duty instead of knee-deep in wounded at the front. Rarer these days but still happens.

Im a goodie goodie two shoes and obeys da law, but the closest iv done disobeying orders was during a high pop zombie event on Big Red.

Bravo squad was 30+ strong and tasked with holding Engineering on deployment, as SL I purposefully moved my men slowly to keep the squad together and divided them into 3 Fire Teams.
Command ordered all squads to intercept a scientist survivor and while attempting to move 30+ men through a narrow hallway into Cargo, heard lots of screams over general comms from the other squads ( kek ).
So I did the sensible thing and slowly dragged my squad's feet until we got different orders to gtfo.

Every single time I'm told to wear a helmet unless it's ice colony. Helmets look lammmmee compared to my badass cap. Also I don't like having a little bitch SO snitch on my ass while Im trying to commit war crimes ya know?
Only ever get arrested for the lack of helmet in breifing and even then I tend to get away with it.

I also frequently disobey both orders to get myself killed and not get myself killed.

And I disobey when there is no SO and we're on FOB or something useless. Why? Because I hate wasting my time.

I remember this one time I was a charlie marine, and my squad lead had disobeyed almost every order given to him. I was half expecting the Commanding Officer to come down and Battlefield Execute him for incompetence.

As For Cara/Irmina, she has yet to disobey orders on the record, however. she DID complain a lot about it to her SO when she was a grunt for Charlie.

The only times I've seen all 8 cells being used is during mandatory helmet rounds. Why is it so hard to just wear a helmet? At the very least wear it until you hit the planet.

Disobeyed an order as a smartgunner to fall back when both our specialist and only medic got dragged off by a crusher and a hivelord respectively.

Gave chase and critted the hivelord who had dropped the medic to flee. The Crusher gave up trying to capture the spec to drag the hivelord off. I shook the spec up and told them to grab the medic and pull back as I reloaded. They fell back as I laid down fire. Several marines joined in to help and we all made it back fine, save for the marine who got crit spit by a prae and had to be dragged back too.

Got bitched out and almost reported for insub had the XO not shut the SL down for "leaving men behind".

Right, Bill Carson counterattacks. I remember just standing in Hanger south of DS2 with two other marines, we were silent when MP asked why we were not on DS2, then the unscheduled dropship approach detected. We were all relieved and worried.
