Best attachments for the M41A
Let me rephrase this. What do you as a player prefer to have on your M41A?

Skill beats any attachment
you can always check the Wiki to see the attachment list and what they do/give, try different loadouts and see which one fits you better

Rail Flashlight + 2HIDP in UGL.
QF/EB + UGL
RDS/GRIP-BFA or RDS + Anything.
APR - RDS/BC/GRIP-BFA
And of course most important, AP ammo.
Anything else is sub-par.

FINALLY! Someone with a real topic!
M41A Stock, BC, Foregrip, (Extra) Railscope/Mag harness = Most badass looking gun
Add AP ammo and you get a gun that wrecks even Crushers under sustained fire. This is the gun I try and aim for if I am Field SO/SL/SPEC and want a rifle in my mind.

Re: Best attachments for the M41A
Gyro is the best attachment for the M41A and probably the best attachment in the game overall, but its value doesn't really take off for the M41A unless you've got two of them, each with at least suppressors: drop accurate 6 AP bullets in less than a second.
In general there are several particularly strong attachments that become truly powerful when synergizing with others; they are: Gyro, Burst Fire Adapter (BFA) and Quick Fire Adapter (QF)
That having been said, the best M41A attachment loadouts are as follows:
#1: Suppressor + RDS + Gyro (two M41s with these; maybe one with a mag in lieu of RDS)
#2: Extended + QF + Foregrip (the last slot is your call and is lowest priority; that said, Foregrip does substantially improve your fast firing 2 shot bursts)
#3: Suppressor + RDS + BFA (best at close-medium but highly effective at all ranges; mind the FF)
#4: Barrel Charger + RDS + Foregrip (Foregrip is least necessary but I recommend it)

Re: Best attachments for the M41A
Usually I don't use the railscope . I prefer a mag harness or a rail light. The hitting power makes up for sucky speed of it along with the fact I use it more like a sledge hammer than a sniper.
I put it on burst and only use it in a charge or to see far .
But yeah . Rails scope is absolutely a sucky choice unless you are going SL . Then it becomes (somewhat ) viable for the fact you can see far, shoot off some hard hitting rounds now and then, if you do plan on attacking use it like a improvised sledgehammer of a rifle. QF is a better choice if you plan on killing more
From a SL / Spec standpoint I usually find myself in CQC as that so I figure I'll use a gun that mixes the play style .
Plus it looks awesome ha.
I plan on experimenting with QF more instead. It probably would offset the downsides of slow firing more ( which I notice but work around)

I like running around with the RDS, BFA, Supressor mix, just be mindful of the FF.

Re: Best attachments for the M41A
Goodbye accuracy if you do QF BC, I think a BC with a RDS is a good choice, it would almost feel like a standard rifle but pack more of a punch. I think a BFA could also work if you just wanna blast Xenos in cqc. I'm not that knowledgable on attachments. Stock M41A is pretty nice, I think gyros and mag harnesses are a waste of mods for the most part (mag has its uses). My play style kind of revolves around being a grunt, I carry a M4A3 holster in my suit storage slot and a M41A MK2 on my back. I really do want to try BC and RDS some round, but I could live without it. Also I got an HPR one round, and I survived a real long time doing a lot of damage to Xenos, but I didn't get any kills, I had to play safe because my gun was expensive. Still though if my squad was abit more close knit I could see how a HPR can do some real damage.Vispain wrote: ↑10 Mar 2018, 02:05Usually I don't use the railscope . I use EB, Reddot and a UBGL filled with HEDP + Inci from Engineers (if they allow me to take one)
Powerful defending combo if you use AP rounds. You have good accuracy and if benos get close shoot a granade behind them.
Then spray them down.

Re: Best attachments for the M41A
If you can only get two attachments I recommend quick fire and foregrip. You put down accurate shots super quickly, which is causes many aliens to pause and turn around when they get hit multiple times. If your an SL go RDS, BC, Grip for a slower, but much harder hitting gun. Stay away from the skeleton stock and scope since it drops your fire rate into the toilet, making you very vulnerable to aliens. If you want to be a sniper that badly, try to roll spec, as the M41A does not do enough damage per shot to justify dropping its fire rate that much.

But I agree with Forst, vanilla Pulse Rifle all the way. You only need Nades and AP.

Re: Best attachments for the M41A
M41A
I always try to get QF and EB, little to no spread, crazy accuracy. Add AP to the mix? Duh.
Generally I try to stay away from underbarrel mods besides the UGL, because two nades you can fire right out of your gun? worth it. But, I can see how a Foregrip could be really good here.
Skelestock? It'd maybe counteract the speed you're getting from the QF anyway, wouldn't go for it.
And always, always, bring a second gun on your back slot, be it another M41A, Shotgun Scabbard, or even a Flamer, if you are a private, never bring a pack.
