The tanks are very modular, so slashing didn't actually destroy the tank but rather broke the parts on it. As far as I know it's impossible to actually destroy it, because they want you to be able to recover it and repair it. If the hive gets up close to it the tank is done for, especially if they get at it's sides and rear since it can only shoot forward

Only if we Preds can rip the cannon off the front and keep it as a trophy.

Or if we Preds can hijack the tank and recreate the sneak shots of the new pred film.
