Re: Favorite Specialist?
Sniper or B18.
Sniper, because of the cheap ammo supplies, 6 mags can usually supply for a 2 to 3 hours round.
My loadout allows 3 weapons (Sniper + M41 + M88). Ultra mobility and agility to dodge, flee, flank, hunt.
B18, tossing the GL and keeping just the armor, because the armor is like just a "I DON'T GIVE A FUCK" displayed to aliens, just got with a huge M41 fully modded, like an ultra pointman, your handes primed and cooked by hand to meme or to protect.

Scout.
M4RA with a silencer and a grip is a beast
Also you have the Cloaky Boi™ - Cloak, find a resting beno and purge him. If you get in trouble you have your Tactical laser boi™ to call CAS. If that doesnt work you have C4 to make an escape route and Kesserline planty boi™ to setup a trap.

I don't get people who toss the M92, or people who think xenos are massively affected by your B18 suit.Kesserline wrote: ↑03 Apr 2018, 03:41B18, tossing the GL and keeping just the armor, because the armor is like just a "I DON'T GIVE A FUCK" displayed to aliens, just got with a huge M41 fully modded, like an ultra pointman, your handes primed and cooked by hand to meme or to protect.
As a spec, you don't by any means need a backpack, and you can carry all the ammo you need in your webbing and large magpouch.
Thus, you can maintain use of your M92 and grenade belt (By putting your rifle on your back).
While the M92 isn't what it once was (Looking at you, queen buffs), it's still considerable, especially now that xenos are used to the M92 *not* being fielded, they tend to clump up REALLY hard now, prime targets for some good 'ol 5x5 stuns.
Also, xenos just hit you in the hands or feet, which (while you do have gauntlets) pretty handily negates your armour.

Re: Favorite Specialist?
A specialist is nothing, the spec loadout is nothing to me. The player behind the spec is important. Robust spec ? Dozens of xenus ded. Baldie spec ? Just another KIA, same as a baldie PFC.
As I consider myself a decent marine, anything enhancing my survival rate or my efficiency rate is good for the taking (this on a reasonable limit of course, if it's at the price of RP and fairplay, then nuh).
As a sniper, I prefer dodging and mobility.
As a B18, I love the tankiness and ability to keep standing to let my mates recover and hold the line, or keep on pushing to ensure a kill.
I am not afraid to juggle with weapons.
I have 2 weapons and a backpack, everytime. In urgencies ? I toss the backpack if it's nearly empty or for limited strategic value. If not ? I can toss my secondary weapon, it's only a vanilla rifle with a flashlight.
As a B18, I always have two weapons, the sniper is the only loadout where I can have 3 weapons with decent amount of ammo on each (Sniper, I can manage having between 5 to 8 mags M41, the two spare mags M88, and, depending on Req, 9 mags of sniper). With the B18, I can have rougly 8 to 11 mags easily, with IFAK and medical shits to keep on standing.
PS : I prefer cooking-priming my nades for insta stun, instead of relying on the GL. That's why I can still have 2 good weapons, and have explosion abilities.

Re: Favorite Specialist?
Pyro spec.
Mostly because of blue flames and the strong as fuck armour. Really, I have no idea why the pyro spec armour is so strong. It's basically a mini B18.
As for the blue flames, they're basically a one hit kill on pretty much anything. It'll instacrit most xenos, and if it doesn't they're very likely to die to the fire.

Re: Favorite Specialist?
Gotta be scout pyro or sniper for me,
Scout for moveing fast the meme that is the cloak, and the high inpact mags are just pure joy to use
Pyro for being able to burn anything you'd want to, and the armor, it really is mini B18, better then B18 imo, less slowdown
And sniper due to the fact that nothing feels better then killing a xeno at long range alone and with only your sniper rifle

Re: Favorite Specialist?
RPG Spec is always great fun and a dangerous foe when in capable hands. My most robust moments always seem to involve the RPG, even with the explosive stun nerf.
Pyro Spec is viable in all situations except agaisnt a Ravager or Queen and that's when you got your buddies.
I switch between the two depending on how I'm feeling and the map.

Re: Favorite Specialist?
B18 and Scout spec.
Load up your belt with the HEs and fill your webbing with incendiaries. Take the pulse rifle and slap a rail light and bayonet then load up the UGL with the flame nades. Slap a magharness on the grenade launcher. You got yourself a man that can clear out the trash, weeds, and T3s. Plus having the armor can help you survive pissing contests with xenos as you stab them to death with your bayonet.
For the scout spec, just vanilla that shit. You don't need anything else but the gear that comes in that box. use the rifle on mid to long, shredding xenos that dare move up without weeds nearby.
Swap to your handgun and knife for those cqc moments. You are fast enough to outpace most xenos and toggling cloak makes you an even harder target to hit. (Just make sure you are doing this in front of marines or they will kill you on accident.)

Scout and sniper. Pyro is pretty fun too, but the rail scope life is better. I wish the m41 with a rail scope was stronger, I would ask req for a scope every time if that were the case.
Also the scout rifle does an assload of damage, it's great.

Re: Favorite Specialist?
The demo specialist is my favorite. Able to deal boat loads of damage very quickly.
As a Xeno I fear the pyro the most. With its area of denial effects, it is often able to effectively stop what ever momentum a Xeno wave has at that point.

Re: Favorite Specialist?
Also for my set, I'm using Scout, RPG and pyro as my main sets:
Scout: Just use your M4RA like main weapon and deal with your aim, so you'll no FF dudes. (Just find good place and be active, because you've extra speed).
RPG: That's my favorite set from Sulaco times (Anti-preds squad again with 4 SADARS). Using that set with gyroed M41A for shot down stunned benos. But everytime requests good support from cargo.
And my last kit is Pyro: Pyro has good tanks for flame xenos (without extra tanks from req), but everytime I'm ordering one new extra crate with tanks for flamer. That's enough for 3 hours battle.

Re: Favorite Specialist?
I absolutely love Scout, because I can just waltz right on up to someone, blast them with Incin rounds, and then dance as I cloak and stab them to death. It's the perfect meme. That, and not needing flares is SUPER valuable to me. Not being able to see far enough to throw grenades, or inform your team what's coming down the hall, is a big sad frown for me. Scout turns that frown upside down.

Favourite Spec:
PYRO. That shit is awesome, running around like a boss with flames that make every caste but rav/queen think twice about being in the same map as you.
Secondary Spec:
SNIPER. I love laying down pain from a distance, making Boilers hate me as they lose chunks of HP to an incendiary shot to the face is entertaining to no end.

I live the pryo set the most. Second for me is a tie between the scout and GL. SADAR and sniper are both last for me.

Re: Favorite Specialist?
scout/pyro are the only ones worth the play right now in my opinion
the scout spec unlike the sniper spec has a good enough rate of fire to consistently kill targets and deals a ton of damage, even to T3's. it's also very mobile and going invisible can give you the edge easily since you can run in and toss nades, get up close and assblast etc.
pyro is the janitor for those pesky hivelords, drones and praetorians that like to spam sticky resin. it's also by far the most effective with area denial and denial in general. crushers stay well away from normal flames, let alone blue flames. hell, lay down a green flame field just before the queen screeches and that's the queen with no back up unless there's a ravager coming through or another xeno is bald/bold enough to run through

By the way, I think this was regarding Specialist players, more than their kits.
But when are specialist players ever memorable?
They usually just immediately die because focus, and before that they're typically pretty mute.

Sally Shears, Lisa 'Hotshot' Taylor, Joseph Murta, and Emily Strauss are all scary motherfuckers when they play as spec.
When you play as marine, you can only notice the bad marines.
When you play as alien, you can only notice the good marines.
When I play as alien, those four scare the shit out of me.
