I try to always get BC for my smartgun unless req gives them all out to PFC John Unga for their shotgun. Early game you can set it to single fire mode and it still will work really well against runners and the occasional hunter then when shit gets real and you have T3's several tiles away you snap burstfire on then you can chase queens away with that.

BC without BFA (because BFA succs on accuracy). Med pouch, mag pouch, M39 holster with an M39 and that's it.

Yeah okay man.

Basically just run a BC on your smartgun, and have a really good time throwing out 100-0 bursts.

I’ve ran a vanilla smartgun and a BC smartgun and I gotta say that the BC smartgun is much better

Dont know what the best loadout is.My usual loadout however, is a barrel charged smart gun, red dot sight M39 with holster and as much M39 AP ammo you can get, two first aid pouches(because the xenoes will single you out, i can promise you that), shouldnt need flares, as the privates should be doing that(youve got night vision anyhow).

"It was a fantastic round. If the CO hadn't cryo'ed before the end I'd have bothered him to give at least two more medals. To PFC Max Dallas, who kept doing the path between the frontlines to FOB (the only place with medical aid) with a roller bed, and saved a lot of marines who'd have husked otherwise. And to Dr. Haley Altman, who after all medics were gone was fixing us time and again for hours straight. At the end there were over 10 patients around her either dead or in crit, and she just kept going."

While I've never been a Smartgunner, I have to say that BC Smartgun is the best, as a beno and as a meatshield for SGs. One BC burst causes Ravs and Praes to scream. You're not gonna be as good at suppressive fire as a baldie with something like RDS EB VGrip, and when shit hits the fan, you want to have the damage to kill shits quickly.

I ain't taking any of the attachment as accuracy for that thing is pity with any.

If I ain't going so hardcore I'd take M44 holster instead of M39's as secondary. But... when things get ugly I'd regret it. That shit never works as intended.

I honestly never understood why people would want to put a Barrel charger on a smartgun.

To me, the best loadout is a vanilla, all pure smartgun, free to DAKKA as fast as it can (I'm a single fire pleb, unlike most smarties who burst). I also like to pack a pistol or revolver as a sidearm and my normal medpouch and flarepouch (because even with night vision, it is good to have flares handy).

If only I could put a quickfire on a smartgun, though... THEN I would be happy boi.

I haven't done SG a lot because I never end up rolling the role, as for some reason the game thinks it's funny to give me SL even with a low priority, but the couple of times I have gotten it I went with an unmodified gun.

Depends. If you want more powerful shots and less ammo consumption, then get the BC. If you want less powerful shots and more ammo consumption, get nothing. Nothing is good if you want to spray a narrow hallway, while BC is good if you need long range. So just grab a BC, and either put it on the gun, or in a pouch, so that you can switch in each circumstance.

Get a BC for the SG, Conserve ammo, and still be able to hit hard with it,

Also Grab a Machete for your belt and go Forth!

The smartgun works best without attachments. Fire rate is simply amazing without a barrel charger.

Smartgun has the damage of a pulse rifle. Dunno where you got the idea that its as damaging as an SMG. It doesn't have as much armor pen, so it may seem like it does less damage but its actually really good without anything.

Though, if you want a high HIGH damage loadout go BC BFA. When I used this last you could but a QF on the gun as well but whatever. I gibbed a Ravager with this in 20 shots, its fucking amazing. Though, accuracy is horrid. The only reason I managed that ravager is because it charged down the sand temple hallway and was one tile away so I just laid into it.

Smartgun with BC attachment, although I hadn't thought of keeping it naked and attaching as needed prior to seeing these loadouts.

Secondary weapon is throwing knives stored in the rigging -- if I'm in a position where I can't use my smartgun, and I can't pick up a spare gun usually lying on the ground somewhere, the situation is already a lost cause and I should be retreating. If there was the option, I'd take a pouch for spare medical supplies in the belt/rig slot rather than throwing knives.

Pockets are a medium general pouch and a first-aid kit, slots on the armor, webbing, and the pouch either have an extra set of injectors, splints to keep me or other marines going, or spare food/drink to keep hunger at bay. The injectors and splints on hand have done wonders, in particular, since you can get good use of out the first set of bandages and ointment.

For the people who take the machete along with the SG, how does it usually work out? Do you end up using it frequently? I've never used that setup before myself.

As for me, I tend to go BC SG (start in single fire for ammo conservation, switch to burst when things get bad) and either an M44 or a .45, though I've only ever ended up really getting any use out of them once while retreating from hydro to the Nexus with one hand.

Tbh now, BC on your SG and just a machete for your belt. Although I have used the gun naked quite a lot as the CO as I don't believe in taking attachments as the CO, The damage is not as beefy as the BC SG but its more accurate.

Grab as much medical supplies, a pack of smokes, and a protein bar or 2.

@Audrey. The Machete serves as a potent melee weapon, your not a synth, mp or the commander so you won't be 3 shotting T1's. Its enough to scare most xenos away as the damage is quite strong.

Also someone to clear weeds, sticky resin and now to chop away the vines on LV.
