Got a perfect example for it.

https://youtu.be/BaNGh-466lA
0:25 Charlie went south to open a flank while Bravo stay and contain the Xeno
3:10 Xeno gave no fuck and just break out
4:01 So much for the flanking
The marines here were extremely bald, this doesn't count.

That video is definitely an example of marines being shit. Needed the other two squads up there with them since I'm just guessing, ones doing literally nothing in the FOB and the other is still fucking around scouting doing nothing since command hasn't told them there's a war on and the other squads need help.

*snip before most recent snip*
I’d argue that having more squad members is much better than having few but trusted members. Especially with engineers and medics.
Yeah sure having a ton of known PFCs is sweet but if you need to quickly set up the power having a squad with three engineers is much better than a squad with one really cool engineer.

Same can be said with the FOB.

And also spec kits are an important thing. B18 specs are great for the FOB, pyro is good for a squad covering the back as they can clear weeds, scout good for a scouting squad, sniper good for a squad covering the back, demo good for frontal assault, grenadier good for frontal assault. So on so forth

Just as well, medics are extremely important. Never have an assualting squad with less than two medics. If a squad had three medics they become the assault squad, squads with one medic or none should be on the FOB or in the back.

Doesn’t matter how known people are, it matters with efficiency. Just because those people voted you in as a CO doesn’t mean they’re more or less important.
