Is there any point to the backpack fuel tank? Can you connect your flamer to it?
If anyone out there has tips for pyro spec too that would be nice as well.

Pyro spec question
“Here is the wild Homo Sapien hunting its prey. The humanoids are pack hunters, using their shoddy armor as a pitiful defense against the towering Insecta. The human is quickly downed by the Insecta’s powerful slash. But, sheer numbers of humanoids rampage the abuser and Insecta is eventually burned to death, beaten, and dismembered.”

Re: Pyro spec question
The backpack can refuel normal flamer tanks (not the X or B variants)

Re: Pyro spec question
Having backpack fuel tank gives you 5 large tank refills as it has 500 units of oil in it. That's a lot i believe and as pyro spec you won't have too as many things to carry as a demo, for example.
My first advice is grabbing 88 Mod or an .45 m4a3 for a sidearm, putting a rail flash on it, so you won't be blind and put it on your belt slot. You could grab a M39, but rail flashlights are not working when weapon is in holster, it's better to have longer range of sight in my opinion and these pistols are somewhat good.
Also, take an extinguisher, because there always is an unga that won't see the flame, he will walk into it and he will be set on fire, you also could set someone on fire by an accident, as we all know, so yeah, just grab that extinguisher and put it in your backpack/fuel tank. Better safe than sorry.

Re: Pyro spec question
Ditch the pack and grab a satchel, keep your only 3 fuel tanks in the satchel (X, B, and a normal) and a gas mask, you will have one more space in the bag for something as big as a magazine. Hope that RNG is with you or ask TEQ to get you an emergency fire extinguisher, smaller and can fit in your medium gen pouch. Depending on your weapon loadout be it pistol or M39, you must ditch it and grab a machete for your belt.
Give your remaining fuel tank to the fuel pack and throw it at the CT’s and possibly ask for predeployment fextra blue fuel.
Afterwards burn the entirety of Bravo and Delta with green fire as you climb down a ladder of xenos to attack.

Re: Pyro spec question
500 fuel means you never really run out, it's very much worth taking it along. Your probably better off avoiding direct combat unless you're using blue fire though, normal flames are weak and cut off the marines advance. Clear resin fields or use the fire to prevent xenos from using flanks on marines as they push forward. Sticking to trying to flame xenos as the pyro makes you as much as a liability as anything else, flamers are best off denying area and clearing sticky resin and if you aren't using it right you'll just hit a lot of marines instead. Only worth firing at them with the flamer if they're in range of your 5 tiles and are moving towards you I'd think.

Re: Pyro spec question
Ditch the backpack and grab an M41 with proper attachments because without that m41 you will become beyond useless the moment a ravager and or queen comes into play, load X type into your flamethrower and put Y type in your belt and the other normal tanks in the pyro tech backpack and drop it in the FOB or leave it with the requisition staff for supply later if you run out (you can also easily find welder tanks on most maps aswell), AND MOST IMPORTANTLY the backpack has a lot of fuel in it but what a lot of people don't know is that the fuel in your pyro backpack isn't actually flamer fuel its actually the shitty welder fuel which is godawful for anything that isn't sticky resin clearing, The pyro is by far the most flexible spec in terms of play style AND loadout options, you'll see a lot of pyros run very different types of loadouts that differ from eachother so theres no real one way to play the pyro spec.

Re: Pyro spec question
If you have a empty Type X or Type B fuel tank and you put it in your backpack it will refuel with normal flamer fuel over time.
All in all, think of the pyro Spec as having 500 regular flamer fuel as backup/refill, an extra 200-300 in his normal flamer fuel tanks, and then 100 Type X fuel and 100 Type B flamer fuel.
Long story short. Your loadout ENCOURAGES usage of flamer fuel. Hell, even buying new flamer fuel is relatively cheap. A Pyro Spec is arguably one of the Specs who could go most of a multi hour round without needing refuel even with extensive usage of their weapon.
In other words, use the weapon a lot and have fun.
In response to the guy above me,
The belt option is a good one. May want to get a Secondary in a pistol pouch too.
I'm the kind of Pyro Spec that doesn't carry a rifle, just screws off when I see a Rav.
