The Ancient Spitter meme

Although I'd love to salt about the Ancient spitter, I have a genuine question.

Why is spitter evolution shorter than Hunter evolution? I've seen so many Ancient spitters lately and it's very salt inducing to be stunned and unable to do jackshit for a long period of time as you watch others get stunned and not be able to do jackshit for a long period of time while the creature that stuns others disallowing them to do jackshit for a long period of time is able to run/move at mach speed too.

It’s only 250 ticks shorter. Evolving to young to mature as hunter takes 500, while spitter only takes 250. It’s not “that” much shorter time wise, only about 8 or so minutes difference.

Not just that, we all agree that Ancient Spitter is really good... but it's supposed to do. It's ancient afterall, and reaching ancient spitter is very very hard unless you hide through the whole round until you age, also, spitter has a HUGE setback which is its plasma storage... they have to spit from weeds or near weeds because plasma depletes hellafast and you have to constantly back to regain it AND rng is shit, so it's got its pros and cons but I get what you mean, from a marines' perspective ancient spitter looks like an easy and op role but it's really hard.

It takes like what, 3 extra shots to kill it at ancient? Stop being bad and dodge the slowmoving green balls(or don't they stun for like .5 sec), and ignore the tiny damage the acid balls do.

I will call down an OB just to kill an ancient spitter. Their plasma storage doesnt deplete that fast when they're spitting neurotoxin like an auto sentry. It's not hard to be an ancient spitter at all, it is easy and op..

Also playing ancient spitter is fun, I've stunned most of a squad while a carrier just put face huggers on them.

It doesn't deplete very fast. Have you not seen an Ancient Spitter spam neurotoxin? The plasma meter gradually trickled down at a slow rate. And it's not hard to avoid death as a beno, while actively fighting.

I just think spitter should be 500 as well. Unless there's a good reason for it being 250... it's arguably stronger than a hunter and if I really wanted to survive in a round as a T2 I'd be a spitter over a Hunter any day.

If it's to do with evo times well evo times and upgrade times are seperate now. So just increase the Evolve time on Sentinels or the Upgrade time on spitters or both if you want to be a regular CM dev.

Marine mains complains are so dumm, what Ive heard so far is

Ancient Runners are too fast (yeah, not like the goal of a runner is to be fast and ancient is actually like the peak of runnership)
Ancient Spitters spit delay is practically 0 (yeah not like spitters are supposed to have a good spit speed delay after waiting 100, 200, 250, 800, 1600 ticks respectively and actively fightng marines to achieve that. Nope, you just spawn as larva and pick ancient spitter from the xeno list.)
Crushers have a lot of health (dude....)

You're clearly a biased xeno player. And if you haven't seen Ancient spitter Neurotoxin spam, you haven't seen/played an ancient spitter or you were a terrible Ancient Spitter. That's fact. I'd also expect you to know that it's not the most difficult thing to hide away/be more cautious during combat as xeno so you can reach higher levels of maturity. You're acting like every second of the round there's a bullet flying over your head. The Queen manages to do it every round and marines target her more than any other xeno.

The only people complaining about those "dumb" things you brought up would be new marine biased players. Anyone could say the same about new xeno biased players. I've heard xenos mains complain about grenades, flamethrowers, CAS/OB not being "obvious enough". Of course none of these opinions are the best opinions in the world, they're from new/salty players.

I go ancient spitter when marines have stressed me out, or I go ancient hunter.
Usually ancient spitter though, and usually I just target Delta and leave the other squads alone until Delta is dead

I argument on what i've seen and played, and my conclusion based on that is: salty marine mains like you love to complain about everything they can't kill with a single shotgun slug and that clearly can't be changed.

and what I'm saying is what you've played clearly isn't the opinion from playing on both sides but rather from 1 side. And no I'm not attacking your life in side 2d spessmen. I'm not saying xenos should die to a single slug either, that's way out of proportion.

I think by biased Xeno he means a Xeno who hasn't been in the shoes of a marine. If you don't know what the other side is like it'll be difficult to know their strengths and weaknesses. Playing only a marine could give you the notion that Xenos are overpowered, but after playing on the Xeno side you can see the areas where they fall short. It's the same in reverse playing as Xeno while playing as marine often gives you insight into how you can beat them.

Ancient spitters can be difficult to kill if they position well and can fall back, they're a force to be reckoned with but can be beaten.

Yeh I got what he meant, that's why I told him i'm answering from both points on view, and I also fully agree on what you said: they're a force to be reckoned with (hence why it isn't really that easy to reach ancient unless you are good at it or hide from the battle the entire round) but can be beaten (which is why they don't need any nerf... nor be the main reason for marine salt every round)

But anyways, back onto the main topic, now with the new caste updates, I don't see a reason as to why sentinels can evolve faster than runners.

They have to evolve faster because of low demand, spitter T3s wouldn't be achieved if they had the same evolution ticks as hunter caste. NEVERTHELESS, I wouldn't mind raising evo point to 450.
