So, after a round cut short and a lot of Hearts of Iron, I created this chart in a storm of unbridled autism. It is an organizational chart using NATO symbols showing the troops and capabilites of our Marines. It is still a work in progress, and I had to take a few creative liberties (diving the Almayer into three companies, grouping Alpha/Bravo and Charlie/Delta into platoons), but I would love some critiques.
A quick primer on NATO symbology: the shapes represent units, with rectangles showing a land unit, and domes representing space units (the Almayer). Within the unit will be shapes that show the unit and its capabilites. Crossed lines show infantry for example, while a line on the bottom might show supplies. Above the unit will be a group of shapes showing the size of the unit. Two dots? A squad. Three dots? A platoon. A line is a company and two lines is a battalion.
The troops aboard the Almayer are the 2nd Battalion of the 4th Marines, United States Colonial Marines. They are divided into three Companies: the Combat Company, which deploys planetside during an OP, the Command Company, which is comprised of the Officers and MPs of the Almayer, and the Support Company, which keeps the Marines supplied and the ship running. All of which fall under the Almayer itself.
Ultimately, this is just a little chart I thought would be cool to make, and has no effect on anything in game. I just thought someone might find it interesting.

That's.. Amazing, actually. Just by seeing this, the Almayer feels slightly less like a cluster duck.

Looks like the symbol for the battalion has a odd smiley face on it.

MPs are not attached to the Command Staff, they are separate and answer to the Fleet directly.
