What would happen after the USS Almayer defeat the Xenos?

After a long skirmish and tight fighting between the corridors of the USS Almayer and around the crashed Alamo, the last xenomorphs are eliminated by the Ultimate Badasses, however, this victory didn't came easy, more than the 50% of its menpower was lost in the battle, the Almayer is crippled, no comms, no power and a Dropship is hanging from one side of the ship. Ammo and supplies are low and now the marines are stranded in enemy space territory. Fairly sure this won't stay un-notice for long and pretty sure something is going to happen.. something bad.


You're one of the survivors of the battle, you just lost half your squad, half your friends, half of your supplies, you almost lost yourself.. You're scouting the hallways looking for any alive bug that could be crawling around the ship, you hear something from a station bounced rario: "Ship is clear!". You can now breath with ease and enter a mangled room, which has a chair and a table. You sit and see in the desk a piece of paper a pen and somehow a working fax machine; before you even think on what to do, you heard something else on the radio, it sounds bad, you try to not lose time and pick the pen and write probably your last words, you have to make sure people know what happened here and what is going to happen next, make your words worth: What happened after the xeno infestation?

The T-Comms network is restablished and the Almayer deploys it's Distress Beacon after contacting High Command. Slowly but surely, MTs and the Engies restore the ships system as much as they can, re-activating ARES if she was affected.

Weeks later a new USCM ship will probably arrive after exiting FTL and assist the Almayer.

Mission Accomplished.

If anything, Almayer should go dark after alerting USCM Command. I'm not sure how long it would take for another USCM ship to arrive, but the ship and the remaining crew could take the opportunity to repair and consolidate its survivors.

Depending on the manpower losses, the remaining dropship might be deployed to the surface with orders to scout for survivors, both Xeno and Human. The distress beacon would be sent and MTs would bring mission critical systems back online in order of necessity. Once full Comms are restored, possibly requiring scavenging planetside for parts, a full report would be sent to High Command. Another Battalion and a complete Research team would be sent out to relieve the Almayer and perform a full sweep of the colony and collect evidence. The crew of the Almayer would be extracted via a transport vessel if the Almayer cannot travel and be sent back to a major naval base for debriefing and inspection, as well as retraining and replenishment. They may even become a reliable Battalion in future operations against the Xenos.

Alternatively, W-Y may get wind first and send a death squad to "clean up" the situation. And that's... All there is to that.

There must be at least one W-Y ship already enroute when the Almayer arrives (the CL is just the first dude they could get hold of to act as eyes and ears) full of PMC's, at least one deathsquad and the real W-Y execs ready to hand out hush money to the command staff as USCMC high command is implied to be deep in their pockets.

For your average PFC life after the operation would probably be a hell of PTSD, getting pressured by your superiors, shit remote assignments and threat of corporate lawsuits and even assasination if you talk too much at the bar.

Mikey would probably write to high command saying that the mission was almost compromised and that the Alaymer was in need of immediate support, and basically sending and SOS out to high command and praying for a response back and giving a brief story of what happened. And probably blaming it all on W-Y and then looking at his gun and probably stealing some of the COs booze and having a nice last drink.

As for the almayer, I reckon if the CL survives, W-Y would get its nasty claws into the situation before the marines could even reach High command. If the CL doesn't report it or dies, then they'd send a message through to high command and try re-building damaged structures.

It would almost certainly get covered up, smarter marines and command staff might be brought out or forced by WY to be a part of their team, unlucky/unloyal soldiers will be killed or otherwise fired. If not, they'll be handed off to even remoter assignments then colony garrison. The CL gets a nice payment, and even nicer if they did their objectives. If the Almayer was heavily damaged, it'd be fixed and given new marines to start the process over. That or it gets decommissioned.
