If you're already married what's the pointing of interrupting a combat operation with one?

Like I said if you wanna bring your irl marriage to SS13 and have another one many other servers will allow it, not ours at the moment though.

Also that gay marriage was used as a meme between Broden and Jay Burns as a meme, and it kinda worked.

Well yeah, they did it to try and get the rule readded. I thought that was pretty obvious, and I am not shocked it worked.

And I agree, there's no point to interrupting. We're on the same page there. I just want people to be able to have it pre-existing is all. /shrug

In-game weddings are just... why? Definitely not on CM.

EDIT:
Seems that being married is fine, just don't have a god damn ceremony on a combat vessel. 100% agree with this.

Understandable, but it ended up getting out of hand so it got removed.

If it would've continued it most likely would've just got worse.

False, the official ruling given by SLC on the discord earlier is this

" It is now against the rules to RP as a married couple or to perform weddings on the Almayer, groundside, or literally anywhere else."

tl;dr: I'm bringing back the rule to ban marriage RP.

No marriage at all. Probably includes civilians (I'd be fine with survivors being an exception). No weddings. I am glad for the changes. I'd be fine if a marine mentioned their significant other "back home", but if they're referring to another player on the ship that just ruins something for me. Marriage between marines gives me that same awful feeling that I get when the Liason talks about how they own the ship, and I have to do what they say.

It seems the rule has been officially clarified and posted to the rules page as of a few minutes ago.

Marriage on CM does not make any logical sense at all.

We're in an active combat operation and interrupting that with a marriage would not make sense at all.

If you wanna have a marriage there are many other servers you can go live out those fantasies.

For the future, it's not allowed, and deservedly so.

Obligatory "spirit of the rule"
If the spirit of the rule were important it would simply say "no metabuddying" (happens every round regardless of marriage status) and/or "no LRP" (same).

Married marines is not the problem. It's the fear of what having them could cause, really.

Why is marriage between two marines banned? That's just fucking silly. I can get ERP being banned but come on now. You're only hurting the potential for RP. Not to mention marriage between two soldiers currently in service is extremely common and they often deploy together. You're being silly.
I fail to see how this rule can limit your RP. If you have developed relationships, then marriage would be a small detail that is not quite necessary. Even though rule is a bit strange, not gonna deny it."

So long as topics, in general, exist, people will argue.

Though I can say that this one can be put to rest. It's not allowed. We can move on.
