So I've compiled the faxes I've sent as a CL in hopes of getting feedback and tips on how I could improve. This could also be a more general advise for any aspiring CL - what level of faxing is expected of them, and what to ask (viewtopic.php?f=135&t=17768) . I've had some good rounds, and some meh rounds, so there is a small variety here.
So please, players, admins, let's talk about what's expected from a CL based on these examples:

First round as CL, still learning the ropes.
Fax 1 - Initial report
I heard WY is interested in faxes about Briefing and such, so I sent this one. Complaining about staff being rude, about being woken up late, reporting when the briefing started and when it ended, as well as when Alamo launched.
Fax 2 (to high command) - HR complaint
Someone made repeated insults over comms to their superior, so faxed High Command about the issue.
Fax 3 - Marine complaint
Some marine approached me about having an incident with a coffee machine made by WY. I wold them I'd file his complaint to WY, so I did.
Fax 4 - Further reports on the crew
A status report talking about a recently rescued survivor, what people have been up to and so on.
Fax 5 - Evacuation
Informing WY about the evacuation.
Fax 6 - Predator
The team managed to capture a predator and they were starting to steal its shit.
Fax 7 - Memorial
XO decided to hold a memorial, and attended it wearing Predator's net. Looked like a bad hooker.
Fax 8 - Request for help
Xenos were on their way to Almayer, the Research wanted to put the Predator down, and I wanted to secure it. Asked WY to send someone to secure the speciment.
After that, I tried dragging predator corpse to escape pods, but they got put down and were dragged away by a Researcher that became emotionally attached to them. I left via the escape pod, while the UPP arrived.

Overall, a pretty good round. Second time playing CL, first time running my Weyland-Yutani Corp. Scavenger Hunt gimmick. Good responses from other players.

Fax 2 (to High Command) - A Letter of Praise
A Marine brought me a Booze-o-Mat, asked to get a Letter of Praise to the High Command (including mentions of his handsomeness and dancing skills). I obliged.
Fax 3 - Letter about a PFC
Same guy brought me a corgi. After bragging about how he killed a xeno to rescue the dog, I gave him an NDA to sign and gave him an implant and ultrazine. Faxed WY about him, including his codeword ("loyalty").
Fax 4 - Smartgunner
Smartgunner brought me some facehugger husks and a holdout gun. One NDA later, he asked for Ultrazine and got it.
Fax 5 - Further speciments
Found some aborted xenos in the disposals, put them in my locker. Faxed WY about it.
Fax 6 - Speciment #3
Research got their hands on a Ravager corpse.
Marines won, xenos didn't get to Almayer, so in the end I didn't have anything to ask WY for.

Complaining about a lot of people being incompetent and dying to bugs. 20 people dead and they are calling evac.
Fax 5 - Failures
More fuckups - leaving people on DS2, xenos on Normady, etc.
Fax 6 - SO wanting help
Asking for a team to be sent in to salvage the situation.
Fax 7 - last plea for help
Asking once again for help as the xenos are launching at us.
No response team sent.

We managed to secure some speciments, a survivor "CL" has been found.

Managed to escape myself, but the CLF joined in the fun and everyone else died.

Fax 1 - Initial report
Other than my usual scavenger hunt, I tried giving away alcohol to Marines. Some arrests happened because of that since Tess Greed was playing
Fax 2 - Survivor
Had a civilian rescued that was blaming me for what happened to the colony. CIC also lost power.
Fax 3 (to High Command) - WO complaint
Tess Greed and I agreed that the CMP was doing shit all nothing other than spinning in a chair and moonwalking. So we filed a joint High Command fax.
Fax 4 - Op failure
So by this point a number of people fucked up and the operation was being scrapped.
Fax not sent - a marine complaining about Tess Greed for being too harsh on them. They pointed a gun at me, so I pretended to send the fax, but didn't.
Fax 5 (to High Command) - CE's complaint
CE complaining that the command is crazy for making a colonist a CE.
Fax 6 - Scavenger Hunt winners
Someone brought me a D20, someone else some diamonds, also informing about the gun incident

Two survivors were rescued and rumors of mutiny were heard.
Fax 3 - Secret meeting
One of the survivors had a secret meeting with the XO and the CMP about something that made them mad at me.
Fax 4 (To High Command) - Letter of praise
Praising someone for delivering a booze-o-mat
Fax 5 - Experiments
CMP tried to search me after the secret meeting, I heard some rumors about secret experiments and WY shooting down some freighter ship.
Fax 6 - Parasites
Got more info about xeno parasites from another survivor.
Fax 7 (To High Command) Letter of praise
This time, an MT just doing such a fine job that I had to praise them.
Fax 8 - Another winner
Someone brought me a minimoog, and then got arrested for neglect of duty.
Fax 9 - They're coming
Xenos are going for the Almayer.
Eventually distress beacon was called and it was the CLF.

So yeah, I took this role in a few directions fax-wise:
1) Glorified ahelp - sending complaints to High Command when someone is being shit at their job
2) Praising people for doing their job and going above and beyond (so like "medals" - https://gitlab.com/cmdevs/ColonialMarines/issues/3778)
3) Updating WY on the progress of the Scavenger Hunt
4) Letting WY know if some xeno or predator stuff has been obtained
5) Sending petty complaints of a mid-level manager about small, petty things that get to him
