Hey, here's a different idea: How about as many Charlie/Deltas go mentor as possible from each squad? It'll help us both ID the new guys and keep a leash on them.

The rivalry between Delta/Charlie is supposed to be light, cheeky, and fun. Nothing more.

I've seen a similar encounter. Let me describe it:

You, Dolth, steal food from a lone baldie Charlie in breakfast and then throw it into disposal.
Said Charlie chases you into bunks in were you are joined by two other Deltas and one MT metafriend.
The four of you beat the lone Charlie and scram.

In short, the thing you've described well is that it's Delta that tends to start it. And then complain about escalating. Don't expect people to just throw punches back if you gang against non-regulars along with your regular pals. It's cowardly and pretty scummy.

I've also seen Broden get legitimately decapitated in a fight he started and he got AHealed. He was beating one new Charlie in canteen along with two other regular Deltas before the rest of Charlie intervened. One threw a knife at him after the brawl was generalized, and with him having no helmet and bad RNG luck he got insta-decaped. But he was alive shortly afterwards.

All that said, I'd rather keep my distance, myself. Very much not interested in that kind of "RP".

I think you don't understand. I described a common brawl which is totally fine by me. That relationship between both squad still creates a sort of RP atmosphere and I do like it . I am pretty sure I never complained about it.

Now if anyone does improper escalation, regardless of the player and/or situation I -WILL- complain because it -IS- a rule and has to be -RESPECTED-.

Regarding Bwoden BE, staff doesn't like permakills from marines fight. Even if it's IC. (BS imo but I ain't no staff).

We definitely shouldn't create beef between us because a 2d spaceman game, like said above, you can even see movies for it, brawl and general marine autism is HRP as fuck, but like I said, it's RP, it's not a personal thing or any stuff like that.

They key is working out that IC and OOC are different.
What someone thinks of your character ICLY doesn't equate to what they they think of you oocly.

Usually, it's the people who play "avatar" characters which most often have this issue.

It wasn't so much fun when the "brawl" got other people killed, including the Charlie SL, and Broden essentially brought a gang to punch a person for cutting his queue.

The whole thing essentially escalated into complete chaos because they decided to attack him near other Charlies and it snowballed from there.

Dolth is right, the brawls are only a problem when people don't understand that PB buckshot is not the proper response to getting roughed up. Most people who know what they are doing will stop before bones break.

Let me quote something from a leadership guide from October 2017.

As you arrive to briefing, be prepared for your megaphone to be stolen, Delta and Charlie in fisticuffs, and half of Bravo laying down under yellow blankets. Alpha, like always, fails to be special in any way that gains attention or accolades.

The rivalry and lighthearted rough-up between Charlie and Delta is somewhat of a tradition by now. It becomes a problem when people don't know how and when to stop and it escalates to bones being broken, weapons being drawn, murders being committed, and mutinies being planned. And for the love of all that is dunga, don't get brigged for assault when you are not playing as PFC. The squad needs you on the battlefield, not in the brig.
It's okay to start an operation without playing out the rivalry. And try not to go hard on random names who don't know how deadly a knife to the heart can be. Focus your bullying on those who you know can take it.
Banter on the other hand is a must and not to engage in it at all is lowRP.

To make this more about Charlie than its rivalry with Delta: The amount of breakfast that's happening is declining. Often not even regulars won't initiate it. That is a development that must be stopped.

The rivalry has existed for a long time, but the Grape personality has shifted from friendly, RP-centric (and therefore at odds with the Macho Muhreen Blueberry personality). The Modern Grape is just a generic unga, and unlike the Grapes of old they get emotional about stupid brawls and pull out guns and let the 'rivalry' get to their heads. The only reason things are heating up lately is because Charlie squad has lost what started the rivalry meme in the first place.

Just like last round on lv when a grape started some shit with one delta I will allways gang up on the charlie and beat him back into his place. We had 6 deltas punching up 1 charlie and keeping another charlie away from the other. No one pulled a gun and shot. But as soon as the fog lifted we stopped and fought side by side. I will allways risk my life for another marine as long as the risk is justified (so not complete suicide) no matter the color or what shit he started. But if you expect me to stop ganging up on charlies (or anyone else that starts shit with delta) you'll be disappointed. Fucking around with the others is a good way to kill some time while we wait for shit to happen.

Not much of value here but I'd like to mention the few people in Charlie I see often and make me hate life a little less when I play, thank you guys.
Reinhard Shriver - Being a Medic I can trust and someone who cares about the squad and will try to bring everyone back, dead or not.
Mikey Anders - Competent Spec and generally got his shit together, never seen him cause any trouble or FF someone.
Ellie Weaver - Not as common as the others but another competent Medic I notice consistantly.
