Here’s to you alpha

Post by ThesoldierLLJK » 24 Jul 2018, 18:07

Here’s to you alpha squad. The squad where all the newbies go or the players who don’t care about squad preference.

The squad that usually gets stuck on power, FOB, or comms duty.

The red guys and girls who are usually the first to die of ordered to push

The squad that usually gets the shaft and the rookie SO or the XO providing overwatch

The squad that always has a pyro or sniper specialist.

This beer is for you sons of mayhem.

Charlie and Delta squad get all the love, it’s only fair that alpha should bask in the glory as well

And well bravo, pfft on those guys

I have all the sympathy for alpha marines right up to the point where they slug me in the ass. I still have a soft spot for those red marines who are braver than they are smart and will run into the breach because they don't know any better.

about fuckin time someone gives their fuckin respect to fuckin Alpha team.

The underdogs of the USCM, the misfits of the corps, the squad of bootcamp-fresh marines and bitter old souls... My kinda squad.

You won't see Alphas starting petty fights, and while we may get the short end of the stick, we take that fuckin stick with pride and do our fuckin job. Because we are Alpha: the Red Shirts of the USCM.

I just had a very nice round as Alpha SL. They followed orders well and were competent. Good stuff.
I used to play Luke Compton. Now I play Reginald Dempsey.

Started as an Alpha back in the day but the boys are no longer Alpha marines, I miss those days.

But you can always trust Alpha to do the dirty work that nobody does, and for that I can never stop respecting them. Even if most of my IB and Broken bones come from their pulse rifles.

I used to play Alpha, but their comms text color blends in with all of the ”Baldie McAlphaUnga fires M39” and also ”Bert ’Target’ Beach’s head flies off in an arc”

I like Alpha. It's a good place to relax and enjoy a change of pace. I've seen very good banter there and quality RP.

Alpha is low key a really good squad.

All they need is a good leader and they turn in to absolute monsters.

Alpha is probably the most underrated squad right now.
They're actually pretty decent.

I've SLed Alpha a few times now. I've been thoroughly impressed every single time.
I play Stephen 'Dipper' Johansen, the most american nord that ever did live.
Also Maja Johansen, his vaguely more Scandinavian sister.

@ Alpha -

I've been SO for you a few times, and I must profess that you follow orders to the letter under any condition.

Your SL dies? You still follow orders. Charlie or Delta would crack like an egg.

I could literally point out the exact tiles on where to place cades and you people would do it.

Absolutely stellar. Bravo, Alpha. Bravo. (No offense)

Gave Alpha a new-char-try today for two rounds, because I'm growing tired of Charlie and Delta escalating into drama most rounds. First round went pretty well, second round got me stuck as aSL but rewarded me with a medal. Not a single bullet in the back either. Solid conversation on comms. People eager to follow their SL.
I'm honestly considering switching my main preference. You guys are alright.
Ingame activity ranked by frequency:
Being vocal in dchat.
Gordie Runtsfield: Mostly standard marine and smartgunner, sometimes engineer, seldomly squad leader.
Marcus Edicer: Medbay.
Walter Ingman: Pilot.
Bob Osman: SO.

Playing Alpha and Bravo SL is always a good experience. You feel like you are leading marines who follow orders, not bunch of kids who just wants action and don't care about RP.

It's nice to see Alpha get some recognition. While they do get newbies a lot, it's just people new to the game rather than marines going full unga about killing everything.

We're all marines fighting xenos, but sometimes it feels like there's too many games being played, like the delta and charlie fighting.

That's Quite true, I mainly play SL with my squad pref being Alpha Dog, Every time FOB and it's also the most underplayed squad I've seen sometimes you get a person who knows how to play but average is around 4, I play at 11:00 PM+ And even if I get someone who knows how to play That does not mean they talk in comms very much.
But if you are looking for a mostly quiet game play Alpha.

I play alpha Overwatch cause they are mostly fob duty so I can sit back, crack jokes and drink in game (without getting drunk cuz I’m a responsible person). Fun times makin fun of alpha and in general being a shitty SO but it doesn’t matter cause alpha kinda just sat at fob

Hah, If alpha ever had a SO things would be better. The thing is having a SO is a CO's least biggest problem so most of the time no SO when I play, They do help quite a bit as a delivery person to get rec to do something.

This is done intentionally to cover up any FF evidence from alpha's record. It's all part of a plan fam, the system...

I've been seeing quite a bit of people call Alpha cowards, but I don't think i've ever had a negative experience when on the squad. They taught me some of the ropes, and it was on Alpha squad my character got his nickname.

started as an alpha boi, shoot for the first time, which two of my comrades got injured by it. But in the end, after months, I stayed red
