Re: Most robust moments as Marine?
Once in a round I met a predator, I did not know who he was in the RP, and he started shooting at him, as if he were a threat. After he caught me, brought me to the ship, he dressed me in the form of a gladiator after we fought, but he won after he killed me and took the trophy

Logged into a round while being naked, suddenly the Xenos crashed the DS into the Almayer. Gone upstairs without gear and weapons and ammo, grab random shotty on a floor, and then kill a defender with only a few shots before being chomped by a horde of Xenos.

Re: Most robust moments as Marine?
I've got another one for you guys, and this opens a new category for:
Your most Heroic moments
I was the Squad leader for Alpha. Despite not having any engineers, we were called on for FOB duty. Even with our set backs, we created a decently fortified FOB, before we were ordered to attack the Western caves. After a bit of boot rounding, I got my squad together, and moved with Charlie to the west caves. From there, we pushed east until we came into major contact with the hive. I was infected due to a smart combat hug, but was for some reason not nested, just put into a secure nest cell. I broke out and regrouped with my squad, before leading a push straight to the queen. We weren't making much ground, and multiple marines were captured in the last push. The thing keeping our marines away from the alien nest?
Shitloads of eggs. I was infected, and I saw the queen. Despite being a bit wounded, I ran through the egg field INTO the main hive. From here, I was assaulted by a Sentinel, lurker, Ravager, and Elder queen all at once. With only a shotgun in hand, I managed to dodge EVERY attack and killed all 4 of the creatures. From there, I rescued what could have been the ENTIRETY of Charlie, and a good bit of Alpha. From here, marines mopped up the rest and I was awarded two medals. The first for my engineerless FOB, and the second for my exceptional heroism leading a flank, and charging into and slaying the Hive alone.
Share your heroic moments, guys. I'd love to hear them

Re: Most robust moments as Marine?
My squad was held up north of LZ1 in LV once. We were surrounded and a screecher (forgot which type) came through the door and I was behind her closer to the wall. I proceeded to run through the west area to north of nexus where around 6 xenos were flooding in because they broke the line earlier there. I juked 4 xenos going south to center nexus and then I saw around 7 including the ones attacking me going towards the east cades. The cades were pushed far back so it was hard for me to get to them. I was surrounded by 4 xenos while trying to go and literally kept going up down left and right to trick them out, while I had my knife out I was cutting a lurker and while marines were shooting towards me 3 bullets whizzed past me I think and I got 4-6 hits on the lurker with my knife and the marines finished it off since it was the one closer to them while the xenos were trying to gang me. Then while being nearly shot at I made it to the cades finally (they were literally pushed to the eastern entrance of the nexus) and I made it to the plasteel cade, I got shot several times then I finally got into the cades and evacced with the rest as everyone was evaccing.. I proceeded to survive the entire round. This is what I consider robust atleast

Re: Most robust moments as Marine?
Me and medic 'Bunny' were in front of CiC where we were assaulted by 4 lurkers and a prae. I was pyro spec and lit up the whole pace with green flames, they all got caught in it and the prae was desperately trying to keep me down while it was on fire. I proceeded to pull out a magnum and spam bullets while Hamada was PBing it with a shotgun, she got dragged by an overzealous lurker into the flames, but at that point it died in the middle of it. 4 lurkers dead, 2 elders, 1 mature, 1 young, and a mature prae rekt. It was a good day. I almost made it out of it, but the 5 consecutive deaths probably alerted half the Xeno population. I got flooded, the end. I couldn't have done it without Hamada though, my favorite medic so far.
Look, I've heard your cries, and your calls.
I know you're mad at Command. I know you're angry. I know you're angry that those dinosaurs killed your fellow men.
You told me this, and I heard you.
But you shouldn't be angry at your command. If you're angry at command, you're saying that command sent those men to die. But command didn't kill those men. The enemy killed those men. They took your comrades from you. That's the important thing to remember, it was the enemy who took your friends, and you should be really REALLY mad at them.
Before you go back down there, I'm reminding you who your enemy is. The enemy.

Acting as a Normandy PO and on a CAS run on Prison Station, kill a ravager, a boiler and a third alien (don't know which type) and after Almayer got invaded, grabbed my buckshot loaded shottie and shot the hell out of three more ayys. 3 in the DS, 3 in person, good shit.

Re: Most robust moments as Marine?
As an MP multiple survivors came up and went to the CL's office. Mischief ensues with the CL and we get involved. I got into the CL's private quarters with her and 2 survivors. A confused scuffle happens ending with me bucklecuffed to the office chair inside. One of the survivors was a security guard and his RP schtick was wanting weapons IIRC. He strips me of everything but my ID, and in a minute or two the CL uncuffs me and lets me out, saying the security survivor was going too far (again IIRC.)
I'm pretty upset by this point. Something this goofy hadn't happened to me since I stopped playing Goon 2 for CM. So I decide to just play cool to keep cool and act like everything's fine and beeline for brig to get new gear.
On my way there I stumble upon the CMP and another MP in the CIC hallway, already stunned by ANOTHER survivor. The CMP's stun baton was left under his sprite, and I grabbed it and engaged in the most retarded-looking click fight I've done yet in SS13. Somehow I landed a hit and things got calmed down after that. I remember not batting an eye everytime somebody near me went "WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU CLOTHES?!"
Truly keeping your cool brings rewards.

Re: Most robust moments as Marine?
I killed three queens and around a total 20 xenos as the B18 before the queen explosive buffs.. Granted there was like...40-60 xenos total at some points in that game.
Oh and the Commander and around 10 marines ended up having a impromptu funeral for me on the battlefield despite combat in the caves cause was husked by a flame boi while assaulting a cave position.
---------
There was also the time well...
Xenos were on the Almayer, a MP said, "Don't go down the ladder." I said fuck it and went down. Flamed two hunters and killed them with my pistol.
Then I went back to the second floor and went to SD, assaulted a runner, Crusher, Rav, Boiler, and Prae all at once. Almost got the boiler and runner and lasted surprisingly long considering it was 2 tiles and I was getting surrounded by xenos.

Re: Most robust moments as Marine?
I was captured a few games ago looking for my squad lead who got abducted needless to say he rounded up into the hive nest like me.
I tried to get out but lucky enough I had a mag harness on my shotgun and blasted a spitter who was stun locking me for 5 minutes
straight also took down 3 freshly bursted larva before I got bursted a few minutes after. Definitely one of my good moments.

The day before yesterday I lead a charge from lz2 to retake the alamo before the xenos could hijack. Ran in guns blazing with the marines and managed to kill the queen and most of the bugs. Beat an ancient drone to death with the mateba.
Today as b18 spec bravo squad and I cornered the aliens on lowpop prison and wiped nintey percent of the hive out in five minutes. That round ended at 12:38.

This one time on ice colony, me and Chance Warden were running around the map by ourselves hunting chupacabras. Chance is running dual shotties while i've got the machete + gyro shotty so you know we have that real unga energy behind us. First we jump a ravager and I manage to hack the fucker to death as it tries to escape our wrath, then as im dragging the body back to the LZ we get jumped by a lurker which Chance slays. After that the two of us run around dorms and killed 6 odd more benos together, our rampage came to an end when we led a glorious 2 man charge right into the beno hive and got screamed and capped.

Re: Most robust moments as Marine?
I haven't been playing very long, but I felt like sharing this great moment that happened on Prison Station.
I was playing pyro spec for Charlie, and eventually ended up separated from my squad while hunting for ayys in the maximum security area. Eventually I meet up with a few other marines from different squads and we are trying to push up into an area, when suddenly the Queen comes out and screeches us. The other marines get slashed and I've got the queen slashing at me, I get up and pull out my M4A3 QF+LS AP pistol and try shooting her, but she knocks the gun out of my hand. I end up dodging in and out of melee with the queen, I pull my boot knife and slash at her till she runs away. Soon afterwards, I think a sentinel or spitter comes at me (I cant honestly tell the difference in their sprites yet), but I flame that one down with the blue flame and survive. I ended up surviving the round and marines won, but that was some high octane fighting for me and the first time I'd ever survived CQC with an ayy.

Killing a Queen is quite the achievement. Does not matter if that queen was a baldy that ran at us like a common runner.
But I can say that my first time killing a queen was fun, I did it solo with smartgun. And boyo was that the best feeling. Though I did die right after. (Crusher's are mean)

Re: Most robust moments as Marine?
Hey don't get me wrong, it's totally cool to kill a queen and you should feel relief after doing so.
But the topic is about 'robust' moment and being robust means outplaying another player through faster reflexes, baiting/trapping by expecting something, being more accurate than someone. And that scales even more with the given situation AKA alone VS a queen.
Now the amount of tools a queen have to kill you if you're alone is just INSANELY HIGH which is why only a new player can die to a marine, as a queen, in a 1v1 and in a proper situation.
But, regardless, yeah, you should be proud .

Dunno as marine, but I do feel robust in HvHs when I win against marines by drawing my gun faster. It's a rare occasion though
Edit: forgot about a recent round where the MP team, with me as CMP managed to baton a predator all the way to brig. Of course, when I arrived they were already battoning him, but it was cool anyways
