I felt that while I was dual wielding my shotties, reloading was a real pain and sometimes you'd end up pumping out perfectly fine shells just cause you were not sure if you'd fired that shotgun yet. And I've noticed all other weapons have extended magazines, so why not add some sort of attachment that increases the max amount of shells the shotgun can have in it at the cost of accuracy, spread, recoil whatever. I'm not sure what slot it'd be in, but I figure the muzzle?

Underbarrel Attachment

Name : Surplus Ammo Storage

Pros : Can store up to 6 additional shotgun shells. Activate the Underbarrel attachment to load these extra shells into your shotgun.

Cons :

* Increase weapon size
* Slightly increase recoil
* Moderately increase wield delay

Opinions please.

I feel like that's a bit extreme in both pros and cons. Also having to toggle it to get the effect seems a bit convoluted.

WHAT ABOUT A SHOTGUN MAG ATTACHMENT?
That way you can load shells into a mag and reuse the mags.

All the cons make sense IRL, and won't matter much if you're wielding your gun. The only thing that matters here is the wield delay, and even then, you're trading it for the ability to load 3 handfuls without any waste. The original post did want an attachment for more shells


Also, using this means you can't use the ever-loving AGrip, which has been the meta for shotguns for a while now

How about adding an extra long extended barrel to shotgun so you can poke an alien from 2 or 3 tiles away to get a PB buckshot. Im thinking something like the jokers pistol from 1989 batman. The cons are... who cares its a PB buckshot, it will crit them in one hit anyways.

This would be sweet as fuck. I dunno if it should be necessary to have to activate the attachment though to load them in but I can see why.

i suggested this item once, a while ago. it was denied because they considered shotguns to be already good enough.

yes, they also make magazine fed pump shotguns, and conversion kits to make tube fed shotguns into magazine fed guns, but the conversion kit process is a bit more complex than merely mounting an attachment.

Mostly just to raise the skill ceiling, since you don't have it automatically feeding the 6 extra shells into the current amount. You'll need to activate attachment to load the shells in them anyway, the same with UGL+masterkey

it'd be borderline useless to anyone who knows how to macro, but an automatic pump attachment would help new guys out. It shouldn't be as effective as manual macro pumping, but better than having to click the small ass button at the edge of the screen.

This could also be useful for when you go dual shotgun, as pumping is a bit more of a pain there.

I guess this is as it should be. How do you pump a shotgun with only one hand? You have to do some trick like The Punisher in his game where he throwed one in the air, grabbed "pump", reloaded with the help of inertial force and then throwed it again into the air to catch the shotgun's handle.

Besides dual wielding of shotguns will be nerfed/removed anyway.

I mean, yeah xenos complain about buckshot PB but if the devs were actually gonna take action on it I'd figure they'd go after buckshot in general and not dual wielding since not that many people dual wield shotguns anyway. And imo dual wielding shotguns is good with the right mindset but it is faaaar from OP, so I don't see why'd they go after it.

It's better to take this nerf to shotgunners than Acid Sniper Killer Xenos that is a nerf for everyone.
