Hard pass on this BS. Every time I've seen people fuck around with the eggs from R&R, it's 'cause they're trying to initiate some round-start shittery in the briefing room. Either by antagonizing Command Staff in the booth or by throwing them at another squad's members.

Which at that point, you deserve to get tossed into the brig like a wrapper into a bin. Because someone had to be nice enough to open the checkpoint shutters for you to even get the eggs at all and the way you reacted to that was to abuse it to start shit.

I stand in extreme opposite to all xenos and xenomains. MP's are just another Xeno Caste and those who support them are 100% xenomains. Every true xenomain would do anything just for marines to lose, even OOC.

There's times where MPs clash with people that play a specific MO as other roles. As a PO I've been instantly arrested for habitually deploying my turrets on a HVH round where nobody told me there were prisoners at the LZ and one got gunned down with an MP outside and one on board. Apparently "nobody told me there were POWs here" was a poor excuse for the MPs who, you know, I could understand are just doing their job since it's still a war crime. Luckily the Captain that round vouched for me about it being an accident through a pardon and I cooperated so they were pretty chill about it and let me go with a warning and minimal opposition to the CO, which is nice.

IMO, MPs need a rework. Generally, being MP isn’t rewarding in any way but for ruining someone’s else gameplay.
Mostly, I see MP either being afk/not paying attention to anything before s/he hears gunshots OR doing some lrp stuff, like launching himself with a fire extinguisher bucklwd in a wheelchair across Almayer

On the rare occasions I play Marine, I stick to roles that won't have a chance to interact with MPs unless they really go out of their way to get obnoxious.

This server is well known for it's Hitleresque MPs that will go out of their way to try to find a reason to arrest people and brig them for the rest of the round over the pettiest bullshit-- there are a number of those stories right in this thread! Like the one about the guy being trapped by the MP so that he could then arrest him for insubordination, or the one who arrested someone for putting a box of eggs in his backpack. What kind of lame person gives a shit about that as long as he's not tossing them at other marines?

Uniform Regulations

USCM and USCM-affiliated personnel are required to be wearing appropriate clothing during operations. Deploying marines and MPs should be wearing their uniform, boots, and armor at a minimum. Other crew must wear their uniform and assigned footwear. Headwear, if any is worn, must be your properly assigned headgear or one of the standard issue USCM headgear.

The minimum sentence for a breach of the standard operating procedure is a warning with the maximum being 15 minutes in the brig, this can also be swapped out with a non judicial punishment, or ignored as it is a minor crime.

There are laws to follow, if you don't follow the laws you risk yourself being taken out of the round for a certain range of time. If you want to avoid this, then just avoid breaking any laws, this can be done by reading them first.
It's pretty fine right now though I find, how would another rework on marine law help whatsoever? MPs already have plenty of give when applying marine law, they can choose to give a warning or even straight up ignore an infraction of the law. Not to mention that people in the brig can complain to the commander for a good chance to be let off scot-free.

Right, I've been namedropped as an interesting MP/CMP so I figured I'd give my 2cents. I play CMP a lot. Chances are, you've all been seen Sam Wise rolling around with their neat CMP armour. And I enjoy playing as the CMP, I really do. I don't necessarily think the whole MP force needs a rework due to a few bad eggs, you just need the admins to be more unforgiving on the MPs that purposefully go out of their way to softgrief the marine force for their own amusement. I've had cases where I've had to taze, brig and sometimes even execute MPs simply because they go out of their way to be dicks for no apparent reason.

About 50% of players who get arrested end up getting 10 more minutes just because they refused to comply with an arrest and fled. Not to mention they usually do other stupid shit when fleeing (like punching the MP) that ends up turning a 5-10 minute minor crime into a 25 - 40 minute sentence.

A majority of players who complain and bitch about the MPs are players who want to do anything they want without repercussions. And they are likely the same players who make staff reports when they get in trouble.

Hate to break it to you, but if you are a normal marine (in this case, excluding SSGT), and you get told to hand something over by a regular MP... you hand it over. You are lower in rank compared to the MP which means, not only do they have Marine Law, but they can use that in combo or purely use just their rank to get you to stop what you are doing. In the case of anyone higher then or equal to the rank of SSGT, they just have marine law.

As for eggs? Typically people start doing dumb stuff with 'em.

Easiest way to avoid getting in shit with MPs? Don't break Marine Law. Read it. Love it.

Getting told off and/or arrested for having your gun out and/or misfiring? You broke marine law mate.
- "Aboard the ship, weapons must remain holstered when not in use. Under normal circumstances, weapons may only be fired in the firing range.
