Just a quick summary of your preferred equipment setups for various marine roles you guys enjoy! Mine are as follows:

Standard Marine:
  • M41A with accuracy/recoil attachments [Suit slot]
  • M41A with underslung grenade launcher (attachment primed and ready to fire) [Backpack slot]
  • 7 clips of pulse rifle [Belt storage]
  • Handgun + Flare [Pockets]
  • 2 Flares [Suit Storage]
PRO - Easy to switch between the primary weapon (with decked out attachments) and the cannonball insta boom hanging on your back. Plenty of ammo, few flares for visibility, and a sidearm in case shit gets hairy.
CON - No backpack.

Pyro Engineer:
  • Flamethrower [Hand]
  • Riot shield (optional) [Hand]
  • Firesuit (note - you can still wear your marine helmet and be immune to fire) [Suit Slot]
  • Many tanks of phoron at max pressure (note - can use phoron tanks from tank storage unit in engineering or QM on the planet) [Backpack]
  • Phoron Canister (note - You can get banned if you somehow fuck this up, make sure it's in a secure location where a bullet or xeno won't smash it) [FOB Storage]

PRO - Burn baby, BURN! You are a raging inferno of hell incarnate. A crushers worst nightmare and an arsonists utopia fantasy. Spew flames everywhere toasting weeds, xenos, and lighting the darkness ablaze. Be sure to take advantage of your fire protection by jumping into the flames making any xeno foolish enough to attack you suffer lots of damage. Another tactic is to setup egrilles in an open spot with yourself in the middle as bait. Flamers CAN SHOOT THROUGH GRILLES!!!
CON - ravagers. Ravagers. RAVAGERS! IF YOU SEE ONE, RUN! RUN FAST!!! The queen is also immune to fire so beware. It's very tedious to reload the flamethrower in the middle of combat, so make sure you have backup nearby to cover you.
----------------------------------------RETRIED COMMANDER----------------------------------------

ROUND STATS WHILE COMMANDER:
Marine Majors - 1
Alien Minors --- 0
Alien Majors --- 3

Win/Loss [25%|75%]

My personal ass-kick loadout as standard.

- Classic Pulse rifle w/mag harn, grip and bayo. Suit Slot
- Ammo Belt FULL of pulse ammo. Belt
- Backpack ABSOLUTELY FUCKING FULL of ammo. Backpack
- Armor with one gauze roll and one ointment tube. Armor Storage
- Two flashlights. One for keeping on you for slightly better light, one for utility throwing. Pockets
- Meson Scanners to get that extra 1 tile of sight in the dark, and also to shoot through boiler gas. Eyes
- Killer fucking attitude. Beard
- Competence to not shoot fellow marines with my metric fuckton of ammo. Noggin

In my opinion and experience as standard, all you need is one mag harned gun and a dream to get the job done. Why bother mag harning something you only have a few mags for?

Pros: Fame, glory, attractiveness, call of duty KD, roleplay points, alien salt for your fries.

Cons: The possibility of someone who is not ready for this power stumbling upon this guide, effectively FFing all the marines. God save us.

The only good standard loadout is a M41A Rifle and a metric ton of ammunition in your back pack. Or a Shotgun and a ton of shotgun ammo in your pack and belt.
This is war, survival is your responsibility.

Loadout:

M41A with Quickfire and Suppressor, Toggle on burstfire., M44/M4A3 as a secondary(M4A3 with burstfire if I'm spec)

7 mags of M41 ammo and one mag of pistol/revolver ammo in the belt.

One flashtlight and pistol/revolver ammo

Marine suit pockets and backpack space are wildcards but usually carry ammo, medical items or accessory items(Such as grenades or spare welding helmets because aliens are stun-locking faggots Very Nice People

Pros:RoF is 2 stronk. If you FF, nobody will blame you for it unless they watched you shoot them.

Cons:FF will happen because marines walk into your LoF anyway

My Loadout:
  • Guns: 1 M4 Pulse (backpack slot), M4A3 (armor slot). Alternatively i will go with 3 pulse rifles. 2 in armor and backpack slots, the other always in your hands. (shove your m4a3 in your pockets)
  • Equipment: 2 Flares in your armor, always make sure to have a 10mm in your pocket, for a quick emergency reload. In your belt have a lot of 10mm, if you have a pistol take 1-2 mags.
  • Combat effectiveness: Always use cover, and make sure not to get flanked. If you get pinned down via ancient spitters, just run for it. If you get knocked down and you are carrying 3 rifles, just switch to the other 2.
  • Suggestions: See something lurking in the darkness? Don't chase it, toss a flare and let it come to you. Stick with your squads, its simple knowledge that a lone marine in a dead marine.

Well, I suppose I can throw my load-outs in here.

AR build - Two M4A1 ARs with a belt-full and pockets full of ammo, backpack and armor slots have flares in them. The attachments I get are two flashlights because being able to see is absolutely vital. You can't shoot what you can't see.

Shotgun build - One M36 shotgun with a stock and compensator or long barrel. Backpack has a box of buckshot and slugs with the rest of the slots with flares. Suit slots has flares. Belt is filled with shotgun shells as are the pockets, mostly slugs.

Revolver build - One revolver with the stock and compensator, with pockets with speed loaders as well as the suit slots. Usually this build is for the medic or engineering, and whatever belt they have. Fill the rest of the back pack slots with flares.

While I haven't played enough of the other job types to have a preferred loadout, I do have a loadout for Standard that I often find is quite useful.

Your basic Pulse Rifle
A handy dandy pistol or revolver
4 mags of normal pulse ammo, one AP mag, and 3 mags for my secondary
5 flares
a pack of bandages
a tricord injector
a flask of water
an EAT Bar
a combat knife
and sometimes a poker card for luck.

I don't think I forgot anything there.

Is there any pros to it? Probably not, for it is a very basic, balanced build that doesn't focus on any one element. It doesn't resort to stuffing your backpack full of ammo or using strange tactics like the tricord flask or just using AP for EVERYTHING, regardless of armor types. It is as basic as basic gets, and for me, it feels right.
Sometimes, bravery comes from the most unlikely sources.

B18 armour
Shotgun with gyro in left hand
Machete in the right
Backpack slot with another machete
Belt full of buckshot ammo
Pocket full of extra buckshot
Flask with tramadol+hyperzine spiked drink
Grenades in armour and webbing along with a roll of bandages

Self-preservation is low but potential for glory is high.

Ice survivor:
Tactical shotgun
.357 revolver
Hide in a locker in engieneering until marines come, enlist, get more gear:
50:50 of buckshot and slugs, as much as you can carry in belt, bag and pockets
Mag harness and recoil comp
Two tricord injectors in suit
Pros: Fires the shotgun with no recoil, suprises xenos.
Cons: Good luck if you run out of ammo, eats through shells fast.

M41A w/Quick-fire, grip, barrel attachment varies
AP Ammo
Burst fire ON
Hyperzine from a doc if you can get it

Rush a slow xeno and unleash a very long, full auto spray. I killed a Queen and Carrier at the same time within 3 seconds of engaging. The damage on this is INSANE.

Quickfire and Grip is really on point, just run after aliens and dump a mag into their general direction.
