So yesterday I played a round as marine, it went pretty normal, nothing out of the ordinary happened and eventually we had to pull back all our forces as we were being bad at defense, regular stuff.
So we're aboard the Sulaco again, I'm a GL spec, haven't used my HE ammo yet, just been flame-nading anything that tries to get close, CO opens the armoury to a select few, I get in and grab that HPR like it's my next paycheck and I haven't eaten in weeks, stow the GL in my suit slot, dump my pack and put the HPR there, load up my Grenade rig with more HE's, throw the two HPR clips in my pocket. CO says we're going to take back LZ1 so mariens start to move into the Rasputin, I'm sitting there just opposite the South-West window, telling everyone I'm going to be dumping HPR-burstfire through it like there's no tomorrow, so don't walk in front of me. Suro the SADAR spec has gathered four sentries and named them; Rooty Dooty, Rooty Tooty, Rooty Pooty and I don't remember the last one, two are welded into the middle of the Rasp, that little glass area that divides the seating, one looking west, one looking east, the other two turrets are placed diagonally west and east to provide maximum coverage, our medic Ray is gearing up from a Med-Dispenser that someone had thoughtfully installed in the Rasp, suddenly the Xeno Queen calls down the shuttle, there's only me, Suro, Ray and 3 other Privates, there may have been an SL instead of a private I'm not sure. So I begin screaming "DANGER ZONE!" and channel my inner Kenny Loggins, Suro motivates us all to HOLD THE LINE for just two minutes, the other marines scream "OORAH" and we all load up our guns, we land, Sentry fire forces aliens to realise that they probably shouldn't stand anywhere near the windows, however none of them decide to enter through the bottom part of the Rasp for some reason, Suro takes out a bunch with her WP rockets and I lay down suppressing fire like it ain't no thing, sadly Suro's WP rockets have the side effect of lighting everyone on the Rasputin on fire, que everyone suffering 100+ burn damage yet still standing and fighting, Command sends the Rasp back up and Ray patches everybody up, some minor FF wounds, a bit of Toxin from spit, but mostly the burn damage.
Rasputin lands in the hangar and we have a brief period of respite to load up more marines, a BO and resupply, my HPR still has one spare clip and the one in it atm is about half full, good times. Some engineer gets on to repair the sentries as a runner managed to slash one of them up a bit before dying horrendously, as he is fixing the Sentries, BAM, Queen calls down the shuttle again, bad times, once again Suro motivates us and I point out how easy it felt the first time, we land and the aliens still aren't ready, the engineer even brought a fuel tank onboard so we shove that into the North-West window, hoping to blow some alien to heck and back, eventually we put a Queen into crit using this method, but the lone marine that went out to finish her off was never seen from again, a few people get facehugged as a Carrier throws the facefuckers at us, Command sends the Rasp back up, Suro uses her WP missiles more sparingly this time, either for lack of ammo or realisation that she's killing us too when she fires them.
This time, we manage to get the Rasp loaded up with supplies, turrets fixed, the badly-wounded or facehugged are dragged off to medical and fresh marines step in, I'm out of HPR ammo now so I drop that on the ground and pull out my GL, placing a few spare 'nades in my pocket for quick reloads, Command sends the Rasp down on our own terms this time, we all grin deviously at each other as we expect few aliens to be left, and even fewer capable of fighting us, boy were we wrong. The dropship lands and I get out of my seat, moving closer to the window in front of me so I can blow some aliens up, sadly a Crusher was already charging at that exact window and hits me directly, I'm instantly thrown across the dropship room and put into crit, lying on the ground in pain as aliens rush into the Dropship, completely ignoring me and somehow I live through sheer luck as Suro, Rey and an SL manage to fight off a Queen, Ravager, Crusher and some T1's, all while avoiding FF'ing each other, facehuggers are now abundant on the dropship and many marines fall to them, but Command calls the ship back up as the aliens retreat, somehow we managed to avoid bringing any illegal aliens up with us once more. Sadly Suro has fallen in this endeavor and I'm not looking so hot, Ray patches me up, tells me I need surgery, I tell him to just splint me and I'll shrug it off, I don't give him much choice so he does, I buckle myself into a seat as the heavily-wounded and dead are dragged off.
Once again we fail to remember the fact that aliens can call the ship down and we are caught with our pants down as some of us are still awaiting medical attention, others were trying to get the dead off-board and our BO was in the middle of talking to the CO, things are not looking good. I reload my GL, I've only got one more clip left for it, don't even have C4 on me as I needed the inventory space for grenades, the wounded marines buckle themselves into their firing lanes and the few fresh ones that remain reload their pulse rifles and prepare their boot-knives in case things get up close and personal, we land and immediately the queen gets on, screeches and begins slashing everyone up as T1's board and murderbone the rest of us, I'm decapped in my seat as I'm attempting to unload my GL into the Rasputin, bypassing the auto-lock feature by aiming at areas blocked by walls (Not sure if bug or on purpose, either way I find it funny when you drop a nade at your own feet because you thought you could shoot around the corner), soon enough the shuttle falls into alien hands and from there it's just xenos murderboning every remaining human on the ship, which didn't take long.
BEST ROUND I'VE HAD TO DATE. 11/10 Oranges.

Re: HOLDING THE LINE
It was epic, thank god for that medivendor if not I would have ran out of supplies patching everyone up right there. It was funny to see so many people catch fire due to WP rockets, and I kept yelling "RESIST!!" repeatedly for them to stop, drop and roll.
One of my most intense medic moments for a round.

Re: HOLDING THE LINE
I was really confused as I'd never been set on fire before, then I started resisting but Suro kept firing WP, so I kept being set back on fire....
Good times.

Re: HOLDING THE LINE
I died to a Hunter who got in. I got my last WP rocket off first though.
Later got cloned and killed again by the new owners of cloning. The aliens.

Something like this is my contribution to the music.
What most of the other people on the rasp didn't see was the sheer amount of burning t3s outside with every rocket.
To be honest though, Rooty&Co did most of the work.
