Popped Lungs

Post by Rain7x » 19 Feb 2017, 12:24

I've been noticing recently that getting shot by marines and having your lungs popped is far more lethal than being slashed by xenos, as there is no way to recover from it than immediate surgery which almost never works, because you end up dying during surgery. What're your opinions on lungs popping?

Do the crystal shards no longer heal that?
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

There's an item in development to deal with internal damage.

Also, if you follow the 'wanted mentality' you should be rushing to your death in such scenario; Just so you can take out the few normies who punctured you and claim your honor.

PS: Crystals never healed pierced lungs, they only slow down the damage and generally it still stack its effects to KICK IN LIKE A TRAIN when the crystal goes out... So yea, you NEED surgery or to DIE HONORABRI...

My opinion's suicide charge (Activate self destruct before charging) or die peacefully on the ship. We're squishy under all the armour, so I suggest trying to avoid open ranged conflict until the item Sarah talked about will be added. It'll be good practise for stealth and misdirection, at least.

I'm unsure if they still do, but healing crystals used to contain enough peridaxon to heal ruptured lungs.

However, as has always been the case, this doesn't fix the issue of broken ribs, which will proceed to immediately tear your lungs open again unless they're splinted, repaired or you're laying down.

So uhh... Try not to get shot :^)

Crystals can heal your lungs. Use a splint on your chest, and you should be fine.

I wasn't aware they could heal lungs. Thanks for the clarification.

Splint on preds is pretty weak, not sure if your medpack was added, but either way splints are literally slowing you down and very minimally productive (AKA: Super easy to remove in CQC).

I'd reckon going ranged or picking a ranged alternate weapon just so you can support at long range if you intend to continue fighting.

PS: Knowledge taken from last time logged on, a month or so.
