Just figured I'd whip up a quick thread to get some opinions from the other predator players in our little community regarding the recent changes to bracer bombs:
1. The boost to explosion range and power.
2. The removal of the ability to activate a bomb whilst unconscious.
Personally I'm a huge fan of the boost to explosion range and power; I'd never exactly been quiet with my opinion that they were previously quite underwhelming, after all.
As for activating a bomb while KO'd: while it definitely makes sense (after all, you can't exactly punch in some numbers when you're out like a light, can you?), I'm personally not such a huge fan. The main issue I take with it is the prevalence of KO-tactics employed by humans that rival the intensity of tacklespamming by xenos. While with xenos a predator retains the ability to activate their bomb when faced with a no-win scenario (i.e, being completely locked down), against marines and survivors they do not have this luxury; this means that a single lucky hit from a human can spell certain doom for a predator as they are able to keep stacking on knockouts nigh-indefinitely with little-to-no risk. With a little help from Lady Luck, of course.
So yeah, what's everyone else's two cents on the topic?

Re: Thoughts regarding Predator Bomb?
Personally, I preferred the old bomb. It could remove you, and your gear, from existence without causing undue death on a large scale like we usually avoid.
However, the new bomb actually discourages people from trying to swarm predators, the downside being with how many KOs are in the human arsenal so we need to be very picky about who we fight, especially during solo pred rounds. If the community discovers that we can't explode while unconscious anymore, it will be heavily abused by the "Predator hunters".

Im usually careful about blowing up to reduce salt... however I forgot the explosion size was changed the otherday and killed half the FOB.

I like the explosion size, but the KO bomb removal has been a bit of a hit. Though I miss the ability to blow up while KO, I don't complain as the bomb size is much more appropriate and fun I.M.O.

I was once sedated by a medic marine with the sleep toxin injector and got carried to the Sulaco and stripped. At the time, I didn't realize you could KO bomb, but this could be a problem in the future.

A similar thing happened to me a while back, while i was dueling a medic ran up and stuck me with an anesthetic injector. His reasons were sound rp wise, and he was just trying to capture me as he had a special mission, but another marine stole me away and stripped me, then put on my gear and ran to fight the xenos. (turned out to be a fun round with good rp, but that's another story)doodeeda wrote:I was once sedated by a medic marine with the sleep toxin injector and got carried to the Sulaco and stripped. Does the change stop the explosion happening if you activate before you get knocked out? there has been times where i've been swarmed by xenos or the like, and fallen unconscious/been hugged, but managed to activate the countdown just before.
I feel like the radius on the explosion might be a bit overkill sometimes. Enough of an explosion to remove you gear and maybe punish whoever got you is enough in my eyes.
