Lodging, and how it will change.
With the barricade re work, we lost false walls it'd seem. A lot of lodging revolved around hiding it with false walls and real walls. So the question is, how do we adapt to this? Do we change our 'lodge meta' to something new and innovative? Do we just quit lodging all together? Do we look at our best engineers of autismo forts and ask them to think of something?

The only strategies I see working now are no matter where you lodge you'll need a dedicated lodge gaurd to disepl pesky xenos.
Edit: Well I mean if we were given sentry guns I could probably work with that.

Re: Lodging, and how it will change.
I talked about this a while ago, but having our own "Camo walls" that started in a folding position, which was clicked on a wall to take its form, and deployed to look like that wall. It would fix the problem we had with false walls not matching the walls around them, and potentially allows us to make false walls exclusive to us, humans requiring explosives to get through them.
Just a thought.

I literally don't see the point of doing a dedicated lodge guard nor a lodge. For a long time I've pushed this, but fuck a permanennt lodge-ground. At best, you need a small evac point to know where to regroup and store quick-by supply. But everything should be dropped on the ship imo.
(PS: +1 on bolter's idea though)

CM was obviously inspired by Starcraft: Ghost opening. At least when marines takes too long to deploy.

The whole point of the false wall was that it was a decently hidden and seemless addition to any area, making the lodge blend in. I've had cases where marines just disregard a lodge because it just blends in so well.Feweh wrote:Guys i really dont think a false wall is gonna stop marines or xenos.

You'd be surprised. Untill people blatently spread the information / metaknowledge of the mining office lodge location on big red, no one knew about it.Feweh wrote:Guys i really dont think a false wall is gonna stop marines or xenos.

Re: Lodging, and how it will change.
It just means we have to be a lot more creative with our site placement.
On LV [Jungle], near the southern mini-temple, there is a small jungle pocket, well hidden with vines. It had become my personal place to set up a lodge because of how concealed it was. Sure, it might be a bit tougher to keep xenos and nosy marines out, but we'll manage I feel.. Somehow..
On Ice, we always have the underground ship to lodge in, a spot very few other dare to go to.
Big Red is the only place which I do NOT know where to lodge, though... Of course, I only ever been a pred on there once. With the new update, we'd have to find creative ways to set up camp.
.... Either that, or we throw away the idea of lodges altogether and make a lot more trips to the ship, but then that would be tedious.

I'd like the idea of a shrine gun. Single place to mark the lodge and to keep things out.

That thing was so fucking over powered in the avp extinction game. I swear to god, it could solo entire marine squads.Nick123q23 wrote:I'd like the idea of a shrine gun. Single place to mark the lodge and to keep things out.
