Predators and Clans

It doesn't really make sense that all of our preds are from different clans, somehow traveling together. Should this be changed? Kept the same? Modified? Discuss.

I always assumed we've been travelling with each other for awhile or something like that. I dunno, I don't really mind one way or another.

1) Everyone in the same clan.
2) Everyone is sent to compete, with elders from various clans sent to oversee.
3) Everyone is from different clans, but they share an exclusive hunting right on the planet so that their hunters can prove their worth further.

...4) Everyone from a different clan, no big reasons for link-up.

I don't really mind, though it would make better sense with all of us being on the same ship, it would kinda wreck my story, but I can come up with a new one.

Mostly since it gives the chance to add things to the backstory of each predator about a clan.

Couldn't it be something like what's happening in the south china sea? Different clans have claim to the same planet due to overlapping boundaries, so instead of fighting over the planet they reserved the right to all the "overlapping" clan?
