Ask the researchers to make motion trigger bombs, put them on welding tanks all around the rasp, then proceed to tell any marines onboard the rasp that aliens are coming up and they should open fire on anything that moves inside the shuttle when it lands. Those soldiers onboard were AWOL anyways.
