The applicant has served in close proximity to many command roles aboard the USS Almayer. They have extensive experience with the supervision, delegation, and execution of command, policing, medical, requisitions, enlisted, and corporate-USCM matters. They are able to coordinate effective, original and experimental response to a variety of situations that may arise during combat drop, with examples as follows:

• The dual, mobile, alternate, scattered, or dropship FOB.
• The rotation of squads between FOB and front lines.
• The retreat of one squad so that two others may pincer in from the sides.
• The retreat and redeployment of selected squads at alternate LZ for flanking maneuver.
• The use of C4 to open alternative assaulting paths, and the use of Orbital Bombardment for area denial, cover of retreat, and direct attack.
• The ability to keep plans flexible, and Squad Leaders in charge of micromanagement, for the situations when the above WILL go wrong.

The applicant wishes to reassure the reader that their extensive experience in combat is also matched by their outstanding officer's conduct and gentleman's etiquette. Boy, "Sexy AF" App? TBH This a little special snowflake like but that's just my cynical nature coming in. Regardless you aren't a baldie because of it, but seriously who are you? I've never seen you in game TBH.

Commander Competence Question : You are about an hour into the operation and you are doing extremely well in terminating the threat to the colony, then the Ship's corporate liaison brings you a contract that has been not only approved by Weyland Yutani's Administration but it has also USCM High-Command's access codes. Contract in summary saying you aren't allowed to completely eradicate the threat entirely and must either capture or restrain your future elimination of every life-form. (The CL isn't a baldie and there are a good chunk of mods and game admins currently on the server) how do you respond to the Corporate Liason's order?

Pull my XO and SOs into another room or ask the CL to leave to discuss it privately. Personally unless I'm roleplaying a deep emotional attachment to some of the enlists I'm going to hesitantly accede to On-High and prepare a fax asking them to supply our vessel with tactics, troops, or technology to capture a species that so far we know can only kill and get killed with nothing in between. The XOs and SOs might have good ideas for how to capture or neutralize the lifeforms but really they're more likely to rebel against the order so this is the moment when I convince them to go along with it and try to reassure them with my ideas, generally if they're arguing too heavily I'm going to bring in the CL and get them to display the contract that I sign in front of my bridge staff.

At this point as we're rotating entirely from an offensive to a defensive/capturing operation I will quickly make the global announcement to all squads that mentions these key facts:

• Hold position / pull back to FOB
• Regroup with your squad and Squad Leader
• It is the utmost priority to stay on the defensive against the xenomorphs and you are not to engage offensively without specific instructions to do so, under threat of arrest.

I will quickly ask over the radio for an MP count and allocate half of them to go down to the FOB as a show of force and to arrest loud disobeying rambos, but mostly as a show of force. I get the XO to go inspect cargo and order them to ONLY order and ship defensive/area denial items: NO flares, NO excessive amounts of ammo, NO explosives/mines, but lots of flamethrowers, turrets, and metal.

At this point if we're not getting our asses kicked from the phase shift in our tactics, our only hope of making a genuine attempt to capture the xenomorphs alive is to lure them into an attack then bolt the doors closed behind them; as such I will have requisitions autolathe and drop down a lot of remote signallers and proximity sensors, then give the specific micromanaging order to the combat engineers to SEAL as many points of entry on as many buildings as possible (including vents if we have knowledge), cut the timing wire on the remaining airlocks, and place a remote signaller on the BOLT wire of the doors, so that when a xenomorph struts in it will not be able to escape as all the doors are bolted when someone spots it inside. If it's a xenomorph type that doesn't have acid then we leave it inside, I get the bridge staff to all take a drink, and we send a fax to On High to tell them of our success in barricading a xenomorph inside a building and note its location.

Realistically though, chances are none of the engineers or MTs know how to do the above and we more or less turn this into a roleplay situation between muh kill kill kill grunts and the rest of the Almayer who have to enforce On-High's orders, but I'll try and pacify the grunts by sending down welding masks, welding tools, wrenches, etcetera, and get them to be useful welding things closed, flipping tables, etcetera. There's a good chance the situation will turn into a mutiny, but provided I manage to keep it a secret that we're retreating and defending because of On-High's orders, they might not rebel and just assume the initial retreat (which will inevitably cascade into more retreats all the way back to the Almayer) was for a legitimate reason.

I don't quite believe you have a full comprehension on the command-level, but rather a revolved experience of playing as PFC, Corporal and Sergeant. -1. A Commander has to have a quick solution, and the resolution to put that action into place effectively.

Thanks for providing substantive criticism here, TexasTwoStep. Being honest, I tryharded a bit on this application somewhat to make up for what I feel others would see as a lack of experience in commissioned roles, because while I've played XO a bunch on lowpop and SO a bunch more, I can't say I've been in an officers' role for every common situation that can develop. Regardless, I do feel internally ready for taking charge of the round on higher populations, so I decided to get an application out early so I wouldn't have to wait a week when I decided to try something out as CO.

Also it's unfair of you to be judging me by notes that others can't see :P so here they are for public view, recast your votes on this new information if you find something troublesome.

• Backpacks of ammo was from when I was new and thought that the bags stacked up in the FOB came from first drop.
• Misfire is as it says on the tin (don't use a rifle that has a scope and UGL at the same time).
• The hivechat comment was very inconsiderate of me and I'm going to steer clear of anything like that.
• The squad-medicing-as-marine note is an issue that half the staff were split on until the clarification just now, mods like Karmac and the ones replying to my previous ahelps basically said IC knowledge of drugs is as simple as it is OOC and squad marines are more or less medics without a defib, while others like TexasTwoStep take the stance that the drugs we see are an abstraction of more complicated drugs that squad marines wouldn't know about. After getting the note I tried to get a solid answer on this and made this thread to get a final answer.

I've taken all these warnings and their underlying reasons into account and by all means try to steer clear of behaviour that violates the rules involved and stops the game from being fun for marines and aliens alike.
