Gnorse - 'DOA' - Commander Application.
Byond ID : Gnorse
Player name you use the most : Oussama 'DOA' Neghiz
Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link :
None.
Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines? :
Absolutely, that's fair.
Do you understand how the Battlefield Execution functions? :
I've read over what a BE is and what its laws and conditions are quite a few times, and have come to the conclusion that a battlefield execution is a tool at the commander's disposal reserved to be used when all other options have been exhausted. It is an ability that has the potential to end a player's round, so just because you can doesn't mean you should.
Do you understand you are not above Marine law, or allowed to enforce it yourself? :
Very much so. I have read marine law quite a few times during my MP rounds, and even though I like to think I have a good grasp of it, If I somehow slip up and preform a crime, I fully expect to get brigged for however long marine law says.
What do you think is the job of a Commander? :
The Commander is the leader of the marines. He's not meant to be a robust killing machine, he's meant to be the brains of the operation, to provide RP and to help contribute to making an unforgettable round.
If a member of your staff is disobeying orders, how would you handle it? :
It would depend on the current situation.
-If it's before deployement or 'peacetime', I would give them a warning, attempt to talk to them in private and if it persists, hand them over to the MPs to brig them for insubordination.
-If it's during an active engagement where marines are fighting and dying, I would hand them over to the MPs to process them however they see fit and even demote them if the case is severe enough.
-If it's during a Red alert (such as the CIC being under siege) or if their actions are threatening the mission's success in a critical way, I would attempt to warn them. If they do not stop immediately, I would battlefield Execute them.
Why should you be whitelisted? :
I like to think I have been a long-time player on CM, around a couple years of playtime, So I'd say I have experience in both commanding and leading under pressure. I also have experience in most fields, which I'll be able to use to keep departments running and working in top performance.

"It was a fantastic round. If the CO hadn't cryo'ed before the end I'd have bothered him to give at least two more medals. To PFC Max Dallas, who kept doing the path between the frontlines to FOB (the only place with medical aid) with a roller bed, and saved a lot of marines who'd have husked otherwise. And to Dr. Haley Altman, who after all medics were gone was fixing us time and again for hours straight. At the end there were over 10 patients around her either dead or in crit, and she just kept going."

I completely think you can handle commander. My only problem is that I have not seen you around as XO. nonetheless, light +1 neutral

I play as Monday "Scatter" Williams, he is the guy that takes no one seriously, except his good friend, his work.

Re: Gnorse - 'DOA' - Commander Application.
I've seen you around a lot, but I struggle to find one memory of you in a command role. Which worries me because you are a long time player.
Your application is pretty plain, and while I care very little for applications, yours really is lacking in what you'll provide, other than filling a slot.
Neutral.
Update: I've seen him pop on as SO, he seems competent enough.I would like to see you as the role some more because I think you would get a lot more positive (or negative) feedback to get a good feel of your characters command style .

Re: Gnorse - 'DOA' - Commander Application.
It's not about being robust, a field in where DOA stands in a place on the top. It's not about him being a good leader, which I believe is pretty much uncontested. It's about doing all that while still being a decent person, fun to have around. He's usually competitive in the good sense of the word and not in the bad one. That's why I support this.
His style is very different from mine and I pity bald queens if he gets accepted as a commander. But to the marines he'd be a blessing.

Re: Gnorse - 'DOA' - Commander Application.
So my only issue is I've never seen you in command roles. I know you're a great player, both role-play wise and with regards to what marines should be doing, so I've no doubt you'll adapt quickly to command.
Have my +1.

DOA is a fun guy and I'm always happy to see him around. Not playing command is seemingly not a relevant issue for CO apps these days, anyway.

I've seen you in game. Always neutral or good things I can think on the top of my head. Pretty good sign. You seem competent and your answers are pretty good as well!
The only issue I have is that I've never seen you in the CIC before and can't judge your actual leadership competency.

Always looking to get kills and has pretty poor English and English comprehension at times, known and put effort into his application.

Somewhat fun guy to see around, also somewhat robust. The only flaw I can see here is that interrogation and exclamation marks don't have spaces before them.
But sure, +1. Good XO too.

DOA is one of the characters I see and just want to be with. If he is in a squad, it becomes far more fun. He is great to have around and I would love to see this move into the CO position. +1
