- viewtopic.php?f=143&t=13359 Commander Whitelist request (not seen enough)
Yeah, we've all seen in the last few months no one is free to do as they please, regardless of status.
Do you understand how the Battlefield Execution functions?
I do, seems like these days BE are seldom used (For good reason) and most people let the MPs do their job. I hope to continue that trend.
Do you understand you are not above Marine law, or allowed to enforce it yourself?
Yes, besides leading the Alamayer, your interests are the interests of the USCM, who can't believe himself to be a dictator or king, only a leader. We all answer to someone, and if the commander doesn't it always travels downward.
What do you think is the job of a Commander?
I think it's very interesting to see the different takes people have on the Commander, and how they try to spice up a round. I believe that the highest objective your character has as commander
is completing the objective/mission, and bringing as many people as you can back on the Alamayer (I know this is difficult, but I believe that this is what every commander would always have in their mind.)
I want the marines to win, I want them to work as a cohesive unit, and while many would simply prefer to do as they want and not really do anything but death-match, i have been surprised again and again
as a Squad Leader, that if you represent yourself as a competent leader, people will follow you.
If a member of your staff is disobeying orders, how would you handle it?
If someone is not up to a task, as a leader you only have three real choices, Discipline them, replace them with someone who can complete the task, or do the task yourself. Commanders sometimes rush themselves to the planet side because they believe it's their last chance of winning. I understand this, but from a tactical aspect it only damages the chain of command, and typically forces a dangerous and risky rescue, resulting in high failure.
Why should you be whitelisted?
I do well at leading and while being under pressure (I was in the U.S. Military for four short years, and am Currently an Georgia Police Officer). I try to let the people under me shine, and I like to see my squad's abilities develop, so I know who is the right person for the job. I think we always joke about how stupid or incompetent command can be, and I don't think i'll be anything special, but I want the commander role to be where the buck stops and maybe when people see my name, they know they might actually stand a chance.
