What do you think is the job of a Commander?
This is a very old, heavily-debated question. Were I to sum up the nature of a commanding officer's role simply - perhaps too much so - the Commander's job is to ensure the success of the operation by way of exemplary leadership. Even if a Commander has no other redeeming qualities, if they can coordinate their subordinates in the most effective manner available to them, they are doing their job.

If a member of your staff is disobeying orders, how would you handle it?
"My staff" is broad.
If there's some rando PFC screaming obscenities about me over comms, I'd probably ignore it.
If there's some rando PFC refusing to do as his SL has ordered, I'd rely on the SL to un-fuck his man. If the SL fails to do so, I'd rely on the SO to un-fuck the SL, and so forth. Anyone that fails to un-fuck their subordinates will be replaced.
If it's shipside staff being insubordinate, I'd probably just dump them on the MPs. I have no time for shmucks; I have an operation to run. I am not, however, merciless - everybody gets one (1) singular warning to un-fuck themselves.

Why should you be whitelisted?
Why should anyone? I have the roleplay chops to handle being the focal point of events, the attention span to manage the flood of information the role entails, enough time put into each non-whitelisted role to know what to expect of my subordinates, and the rare ability to not go apeshit when people don't do what I say or things go awry - a quality I find lacking in other CO's, frankly.
