Anya Marcotte's CO application.

Player name you use the most: Anya 'Sass' Marcotte

Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link:
  • I have no bans or jobbans, so naturally I have no appeals. I haven't yet applied for Mentor yet either, though I hope to do so soon.
Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines? Yes, very similar to predator, you can be unwhitelisted during investigations of reports.

Why should you be whitelisted?

Commander is both an administrative as well as a leadership role. It requires the commander to not only keep a good eye on the situation on the ground, but also ensure that Cargo an Medical operate effectively onboard the Sulaco. It's also an HRP role, and the Commander is expected to be in-character at all times.

I've played CO extensively and gotten mostly positive feedback, I can lead the marines effectively, and have a good handle on the operation of not only ground operations, but all of the departments onboard the Sulaco as well. I was initially hesitant post this application, but it would seem that we've had another influx of new players, and that a lot of the new command staff could use someone to show them the ropes. I also play late-night a lot, as well as during the day, so I'm used to the CO role both solo, and with a full team.

As far as how I lead;I lead not fixated on winning or losing, but with keeping my squads intact, making sure they do their best to complete their objectives, and most importantly, I try my best not to interfere with the player of those marines having fun. Pulling rank and shouting are rarely helpful, if a squad is assigned a reasonable objective in a reasonable situation and outright refuses to do so, the situation is usually best resolved by the MPs, or in certain cases, the Admins. I also find it important not to retreat back to the Sulaco at the first sign of trouble, though with our new Crash system, boring hangar defenses are no longer an issue.

Anya's been gone for a little while, but I remember her being a pretty good CO back whenever she played more regularly. Not a stupid baldie and not a griffer. +1 :D

Ah, I missed the poll creation template inside the other template, and didn't set it to expire. Maximum frustration acheived, oh well.

You should be able to alter it so it expires. I think...

As for the app, I think you might make a decent leader, although I do have one question for you...

Lets say the round starts, and you have a briefing set at a certain time. However, cargo is struggling to keep up with the marines, and the line is backed up considerably. What would you do to help speed things along?

That would depend on why cargo isn't keeping up. If it's lowpop and there just isn't any competent requisitions staff, then it's acceptable for me to sprint back there and distribute attachments myself, which I can usually do and still be ready for a 12:15 briefing tailored to each squad's composition. If pyjamarines are causing problems and slowing things down, then utilizing the MPs is the proper course of action. If it's because several marines are being rowdy and causing serious issues throughout the ship, then it's acceptable to brief early, and send the marines down without a single attachment.

As for editing the poll though, the OP is auto-locked after one hour. Which the poll seems to be a part of, if there's a button for setting the expiration, I'm not seeing it.

Since the poll isn't set properly, a denial is likely.

Denied.
Did not follow proper instructions for vote setup (Must run for 1 week).
Attention to Detail is a skill commanders need.
