John Abraus/Fleetgothic Application

Byond ID: Fleetgothic

Player name you use the most: John Abraus

Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link:
Example: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=10027 | Griefing; 3-day ban
Exact formatting is helpful but not required.

N/A

Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines?

Of course! After all, we don't want any griefers up there, correct?

Why should you be whitelisted?

I understand that many of you do not know me. I will understand if many of you do not trust me. But isn't what this application is for? For starters, I'll write my experience with the game. When I started, I decided to learn the ropes as a standard marine, because after all, I needed to learn. For the first few days, I have done that. Next, I gradually went up to PO, and I understand that it's "easy". But we need people to do the boring jobs no one wants to do after all! In fact, during downtime, I turned DS2 into a medi-vac, with IVs, and beds! As a PO, I realized that I could offer more to the game, and community in a commanding position. Several marines and POs started to listen to me in fact! I have never been XO, but if I'm rejected this time, I'll go into that to learn more about the leadership position. As a commander however, I'll judge what objectives shall be accomplished based on the progress of the mission, and information we have, not on my "guts". Believe me, I've tried to trust my guts, and lets just say it isn't good. However, sometimes as a commander, you just need to go into it, correct? While I wouldn't be a huge risk taker, I'll still do that regardless.

For my approach to the mission, I have been drawing up different plans for a few days in fact! For example during the start, I'll assign Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie to be the main force for the mission. They will be the standard infantry of the mission. For phase one of this plan, these soldiers will go towards the main objective to secure a position (FOB) and hold it. Once we've secured the area, and set up a perimeter for defense. Engineers will deploy mines/turrets to bolster defenses. Phase 2: Delta squad will be a sort of flexible attachment to the platoon. Imagine a sort of squad that will fill any role. Delta will do this, such as scouting deep in alien territory with DS2 and spec-ops gear, or extracting wounded from a firefight with a medi-vac, to loading supplies for the FOB, even to loading alien corpses to send back to the scientists in the ship. With that, we'll slowly push forwards into alien territory. Even right now, I'm still writing down other plans. However, most of these plans will include establishing a base, with regular supply drops, and one "specialist" squad if you could call that.

Now... Being a commander isn't all about winning! The main reason I want to go into commanding, is to provide atmosphere to the game. Being a commander isn't about me, it's about everyone! I want everyone to have a good time, as half of spacestation 13 is not the shooting, or the gameplay... It's the interaction between the chain of command, and the horrors of war. I plan to make that VERY clear if I become commander. Thanks for reading the application!

EDIT 1: Just realized I need this account to be 14 days old. Damn... I'm going to have to wait 30 days now instead of 14 eh? Guess I got overexcited.

I don't recognize you and you're making a CO application without having played any command roles outside of PO.

Ah. I saw some approved apps with people who've had very limited experience as command. But I understand :)

Sorry man. Never seen you around and never seen you in command. Being a good PO is one thing. Being a good BO/XO is another. Im gonna have to -1.

You're going to want to take back the application from the sender now that you've just realized your honest mistake.

I'm not eligible to vote but the best way to gain CO experience before applying to be CO is to actually be the (acting) CO as the XO when there's no CO. I'm surprised anyone would ask to be whitelisted for a role that they've never even played despite having the ability to do so.
(outdated) guides to: squaddie | medic loadouts | FOB design | macros.

Well, it's because I DO have experience doing these roleplay style games, in various genres, from Arma 3 (Platoon Commander) to Artemis Bridge Simulator (Leader of a Missle Cruiser battlegroup). And I would assume it's the same. Of course you need to take EVERYTHING in account, from mutinies, to supplies. However the most important resource is the morale of the group in question. But I'll try to prove myself to be exceptional as XO.

Denied.

Account not proper age.

Please pay attention to details, as being able to properly and LEGALLY create an application weighs in on several staff member decisions.
