Aren't you abit harsh? not every CO should be a super snowflake with tons of roleplay potential and creative thinking (like pred). A CO is your above average joe that can RP even under pressure and is innovative. (if you want me to elaborate ask)

question for OP: would you consider yourself (IC character) a harsh CO or light one, personality wise? And would there be scenarios where you see yourself planetside? if so then please expand on your reasoning and plan of action.

I just don't want to see a CO who is the same as every other CO. I want some personality out of my Commanders rather have super serious Commanders all the time.

I am planning on being a light CO until things completely fuck up, and I have to take initiative. If I feel like there is no commanding force down there, and it is safe enough around the FOB, I will surely think about going down, but only if it is reliable and the circumstances show need. I don't want to be a hardass CO making it unfun for the marines, but I do not want to make it look like I give no care in the world. I want to get a fine line of being nice and harsh. Harsh if things go down and the time needs it, and light otherwise. I intend mostly to make it funner, not exactly... just meh because of the CO.

Edit: initially I just posted that. Rustarus deserves more of a response, so I'll say that I personally feel COs should be exceptional. They're doing the same job as the XO, but they should be the really stand-out examples of people who can competently and charismatically step in to lead, even when the Executive Officer has already screwed everything up. I have to love an application to vote yes on it.

And I don't think we should endorse anyone who is favorably compared to Bill Carson.

Ah, obviously you are referring to my description. It is what people commonly thought me as, I actually became a meme for two to three days for evacuating both times, planetside, where I was the ONLY one to make it out of there alive, and Almayer side, where I was one of the only 4 that made it to evac. That is what I am referring to. Obviously though, I can see why you don't like that. I am not planning to be a Bill Carson commander, just so you know.
