Why should you be whitelisted?

Strategic and Tactical gameplay is what brought me to CM in the first place. Over the years I have SO'ed and XO'ed (The latter, more so) many times and have found that the leadership aspect of the game brings the game to another level for me. I believe that I have gathered enough skill and knowledge in leadership to ask to be whitelisted. I hope that those of you who have served with me can vouch for me on this.

My command style involves a lot of delegation and communication. Not only do I try and meticulously plan the operation with the Marines and command staff, but I also involve the CMO, CE and WO to insure that they and their departments are as involved as the Marines are. In particular, I try to communicate and give tasks to the CE quite a bit, as I've played plenty of rounds as a member of the Engineering department and until the Xeno's board, I feel completely isolated and unwanted.

As the round progresses, communication between the squads and command has a bad habit of breaking down via attrition. Being as meticulous as I am, I often try to restructure the squads so that there's always someone doing the listening and giving out orders on the ground. A mass of Marines is no good if there's no one dishing out orders.

I never go to the planet. I firmly believe the Commanders spot is on the ship. It always pissed me off to no end when Jean-Luc, Sisko or the other ST Captains would go on away missions when there was a ship full of skilled technicians wanting to do their jobs. A marines spot is on the ground. The Commanders spot is on his ship.

OP, I think I've seen your character a grand total of like once. I can't vouch for or against it. Your application draws some clear lines for how you'd like to play, especially the part with the Chief Engineer, which sound interesting so I'll support you (+1) to become a CO pending any further information.

Huh, strange that... Maybe due to the influx of commanders, they are slowing the flow somewhat.

Welp, Might as well get back to my plan of wishing you luck mate. We could always use a few more good officers to lead the troops, so I don't have to do it every single round, heh.

Still, though, take some time to get known on the forums and discord in the meantime, it'll help get you known better and increase your chances of becoming one of the boys in tan.

The WO is responsible for all prisoners aboard the Almayer. While the XO may have requested the prisoners be arrested, he does not reserve the right to step into the WO's jurisdiction and release them.

I would side with the WO in this case, and would ask the XO to respect my decision. If the XO has any further concerns I would ask him to speak to me in private about them.

I would resolve the situation the same way as I described in Neth's query. The rules still stands, the WO has complete authority over all prisoners aboard the Almayer.

Before leaving, I would try to make sure the XO and WO would not allow their conflict to interfere with the operation. I would then appoint the XO as acting commander via a command announcement.

Edit: the best weapon the commander has is the respect he has amongst the crew and officers. This is why I would strive to earn a high level of respect in this role. If a problem like this (or something worse) arose, the direction I give would hopefully be enough to help rout any conflict.
