Yes, I am.
Synthetic Character Story (An ADEQUATE description and story of your Synthetics actions and involvement in a previous mission onboard the Almayer):

It was always very quiet when the crew was in cryosleep. Oscar didn't like it very much. Or, he disliked it as far an artificial person can dislike something, more accurately. After all, his personality quirk was -SUPPORTIVE-3C-, and if everyone was asleep, he could not do much supporting. Regardless, Oscar kept himself busy, for there were many things to do while the crew was asleep. He supposed it was a form of indirectly being supportive, since he was preventing the crew from freezing to death in cryo, or having their engines malfunction. So he did the tasks that were assigned to him, whether they be engine calibration, course correction, or general maintenance, and he did them as gladly as an artificial person could.
It was time. The Almayer had reached orbit above a colony world with known CLF activity, and the marines were tasked to deploy to keep the peace. There was nothing particularly special about this mission; it was quite standard, as far as the Falling Falcons went.
Like every mission, Oscar was there, at cryogenics storage, ready to greet each and every single marine that woke up from cryo, one by one. Some of the crew appreciated this, and responded to his greeting warmly. Despite Oscar's relative popularity for an artificial person, others found it annoying and disturbing, and simply ignored him. He was always a little wounded when someone did this, but he understood why; artificial persons were scary and, quite frankly, alien to living, breathing human beings. It did not matter, he would never let such "feelings" ever affect his judgement, much less be seen by others. Besides, the "Good mornings" he did get were much more meaningful to Oscar than the ones he did not.
As the enlisted marines prepared themselves for their mission, Oscar kept himself busy. He helped stock the Medical Bay appropriately, helped Requisitions with paperwork, assisted the Maintenance Technicians with the engine, and helped the Commander organize his ship. It was at times like this where Oscar felt his best; he was doing what he was made for.
Command staff did their brief while Oscar was helping equip the AUD-25s, and soon the marines were off to the planet, with Oscar at the side. For Oscar was to be the spokesperson for Command staff towards the Colonists, as he would be the most able to negotiate and communicate, while not risking the lives of any command staff. He was to be accompanied by Bravo Squad, while the other squads secured the perimeter.
Their first task was to head to one of the main Colony villages. They had landed a few miles away from it, to minimize the risk of the AUD-25 being shot down, and were to make their way to the village. The Marines took point, and they moved towards the village along the main road.
The march was going well, until suddenly, a deafening explosion rung out, and the point-man crumpled and disappeared in a cloud of dust. Oscar's processors were quick, and he realized that the marines were in an IED field, and warned the marines that any movement could end up with more deaths. Oscar quickly analyzed the surrounding area, and realized the CLF had poorly hidden the IED's, leaving unusual bumps of dirt on the otherwise flat terrain. Oscar's first priority was to secure the wounded point-man, which he did by deftly and carefully navigating the mine-field. He recovered the point-man, and led Bravo Squad out of the minefield without a single more casualty.
While Oscar and the medics were treating the wounded point-man, Bravo Lead contacted command, which ordered a tactical retreat to the AUD-25s. If the CLF were willing to bomb marines, then the Marines were willing to bomb the CLF; the village was to be hammered with orbital strikes until a white flag was waved.
Oscar did not like this resolution. He found that unnecessary human deaths were the event that "upset" him the most. However, Oscar knew that protesting this order would not only go against his programming, but that this order would indeed result in the minimum amount of marine deaths, a fact he took some solace in. Thus, his internal "conflict" ended as quickly as it had begun, never to be known by a human soul.
It was not long before the CLF capitulated. The leaders were executed, and the majority of the fighters were captured. Another successful mission for the Falling Falcons.
Soon, everything went back to normal. The marines shed their gear, and went back to cryosleep, leaving Oscar alone to his work once more.
How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)?
I would primarily be an RP centric synth, focusing more so on interaction with command and marines rather than simply wordlessly completing tasks. Of course, I would do any task that needs doing (or that I was ordered to do), but I think spending the entire round being an assistant doctor or an assistant MT is a waste of synth potential.
I would most likely gravitate towards supporting command and medical, since I play those two roles quite a bit.
My synthetic quirk is SUPPORTIVE/SYMPATHETIC, which means he will usually be very helpful and try to understand/sympathize the emotions of humans, though he may internally hold some misgivings about the less ethical things command staff attempt to do. However, his synthetic nature will prevent him from ever being truly friends with a human, and he will sacrifice people without a second thought if it means saving others
How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO)
I know all these roles extremely well, as I've often had to answer mentor questions about them, as well as having played each one extensively (except MT, but I still know engineering).
Why should we whitelist you?
I've been a consistent, active player, and have contributed much to the community. I consider myself a good RP-er, and I think I could create some very enjoyable/interesting experiences for players Oscar interacts with.
I am also very good at taking non-violent approaches where others would simply shoot to kill, and I value RP infinitely more than 'winning', something I have made clear many times over my time with CM. I also understand the mechanics of CM very well, having been a moderator for multiple months now and having to answer many questions about the game.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?
No, I have not.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
No, I'm not banned from any server currently (or ever have been, as far as I remember).
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline?
Yes, I understand.
