Subject: The Hangar Synth
Good evening, sirs.
I'm writing to you today, and to whomever it may concern within High Command, about that synth's behavior aboard the Almayer as of late.
I love to fly. Being allowed to pilot the Normandy has been one of my greatest prides. That said, I'm fully capable of performing my duties without the aid of a synthetic, and Ensign Porter agrees. While I'm sure the flight crew of the Alamo appreciate the assistance, Porter and I are not of like mind. We should start by saying we mean no disrespect to you both, or High Command's decision, but a synth's job should be to work in the Medbay, move crates, patch wires at best. Flying a dropship and prepping payloads are two entirely different categories.
Porter and I cannot trust having an entity on board that cannot protect its fellow man, and that synth is no man to begin with. We're well aware that synthetic persons serving aboard Colonial vessels cannot make use of firearms, and frankly, I don't trust it in the cockpit either. The Liason has attempted to assure us "Morgan" has flown on dozens of live drops, and hundreds of simulations, but we all know that technology can fail. If it glitches, it sends an entire UD-25 into the ground with whoever was on it. If it loads the Keeper wrong, that's a hole in the Normandy mid-flight.
I urge you to reconsider utilizing it in the hangar.

[12:50:21] ENS. Porter: You're not supposed to touch those.
[12:50:25] SYN. Morgan: The Lieutenant Commander wants these payloads up and loaded in five minutes.
[12:50:32] ENS. Porter: Doesn't matter, Morgan. We were very clear with you. Do I have to get Rodrigo?
[12:50:42] SYN. Morgan: Hernandez is smoking in the firing range. You do not have enough time to prep for launch without my help.
[12:50:51] ENS. Porter: Doesn't this go against your code, or your laws, or something? Just get out of here.
[12:51:00] SYN. Morgan: The Normandy is not a firearm, the potential combatants are not crew, Hernandez has a blood alcohol content high enough that he barely could ride a bicycle, let alone a UD-25. You have less than four minutes.
[12:51:17] ENS. Porter: Fuck you.
[12:51:19] SYN. Morgan: Language unbecoming.
[12:51:21] ENS. Porter: Get those loaded while I get us ready for pre-flight, when I'm done, you better be gone.
[12:51:28] SYN. Morgan: Happy to help.
[12:51:30] ENS. Porter: Fucking robot.
[12:51:32] SYN. Morgan: Synth.
[12:51:33] ENS. Porter: What?
[12:51:35] SYN. Morgan: Synthetic. Not a robot. We get that a lot, though, so no hard feelings.

Subject: Morgan
Greetings, Commander, Lieutenant Commander.
I just wanted to thank you for letting Morgan lend a hand in the Cargo Bay. Ever since Polanski's accident on the landing pad, we've definitely felt the absence, and I apologize for the delay on supplies. I wanted to let you know Morgan was a big help in rectifying that.
Morgan sorted out a lot of our backlogged crates and got them to where they needed to be, all while taking new requisition orders and getting the shuttle on its way. We even faced a power outage, and with the Chief occupied, managed to get our APC back on track.
I know Morgan hasn't been the most welcome person aboard the ship. The hangar crew has had a lot to say about him. But the CT's appreciate the help and we'd be in this mess another week without the assist. He even makes good conversation with the marines. Or, as best conversation can be made between a marine and a synth with not a lot of social skills. You ought to get him some shore leave or something.
Anyhow, just my two cents. Sentry crates for Charlie and Delta will be in within the hour. Don't be afraid to visit us down in the Cargo Bay.
Best,
Requisitions Officer Boreto

[15:40:20] DOC. Edwards: So. Are you going to tell us how this happened?
[15:40:25] SYN. Morgan: I already told Officer Rahal everything, Doctor Edwards.
[15:40:29] SSGT. Rahal: Well. Not everything.
[15:40:34] DOC. Edwards: The truth, Morgan.
[15:40:50] DOC. Edwards: Morgan?
[15:40:52] SYN. Morgan: There was an accident with the blowtorch.
[15:40:54] DOC. Edwards: Were you the one holding the blowtorch?
[15:41:00] SYN. Morgan: No.
[15:41:06] DOC. Edwards: Who did?
[15:41:20] SYN. Morgan: Officer Rahal has them in custody.
[15:41:23] DOC. Edwards: Why didn't you report it? We had to wait for Porter to say something.
[15:41:27] SYN. Morgan: It didn't hurt. I made an internal note to alert the authorities at a later time when my other duties were done for the day.
[15:41:34] DOC. Edwards: Why didn't this take precedence? Morgan?
[15:41:40] SYN. Morgan: I was hoping they made a mistake.

How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)?
I'm hoping to play my Synth with the Hangar and Cargo support roles in mind. I don't see Synths that often dabbling in these roles as much as Medical or Engineering, and I'd be very interested in establishing my Synth's origins in those departments. I see Morgan as a very down-to-earth person from his time working alongside both pilots and cargo technicians. Morgan gets along with these people best.
Morgan's quirk? He's pragmatic. He sees a problem, he finds the fairest solution, and he acts on it. He's open to cutting around complications in order to deal with problems directly. In this department, he's very driven. More than that, he's about efficiency. Never to the point that he would think lesser of someone who's slowing down the metaphorical production line, but that he's willing to step up and get the job done when it needs doing. This does allow him to come across as blunt, and while he never intends to be rude to anyone, this has brought him some tension with others before. His matter-of-fact attitude has also earned him companions along the way, though.
Morgan's always thinking. The look on his face is always that of someone in deep thought, or of heightened focus. He is methodical, and in occasions where there is nothing to be done, he is somewhat antsy.
What "fulfills" him is the ability to be made useful, to provide quick and feasible solutions, and to get the job done well.
How familiar are you with support roles?:
I've been around this server for quite some time. I've had the opportunity to extensively delve into Requisitions, Engineering, Medical, Hangar and Command Crews. The only role I haven't tried is Researcher.
Why should we whitelist you?:
I've done well being whitelisted as Commander and have always worked to abide by the rules set in place for specific roles, especially high-RP roles like this. I think Synthetic is a role I would fit well into. I think I have and can continue to develop a character that is well-thought, well-spoken and provides a solid experience in every round. I can't guarantee this Synth is going to be revolutionary to the game, but I can guarantee the quality of conversation and the quality of the round. I believe my time here as a CM regular and a Whitelisted Commander can attest to why I would be a good fit, but more than that, I hope players who have interacted with me in game can vouch for me. I'll be willing to answer any questions regarding the character and my own experience here as well.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?
In the last month, no. I can't remember exactly when, but I may have received a forum warning in the last two months.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
I am not currently banned from any other servers.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline?
Absolutely.
