Open Mission Log; 06
There was a serene feeling of being the only one awake aboard the Almayer during its deployment, the peaceful quietness. The ship gently sped through space.
Craig did his part on keeping the ship together while the technicians were in cryogenics, working on the engines if they had a short-circuit or broken pipe. It kept him occupied for the few weeks it took to get to LV-132, which had gone quiet weeks ago. Slowly but surely, Craig had made sure the ship made it to it’s required destination.
There was a beep, as the marines slowly began waking up. Almost instantly, the once silent ship now was loud, as technicians woke up to head to engines, and marines shuffled to the cafeteria to get their morning chow.
Craig slowly made his way to the bridge, greeting marines and other crew and making light but slightly awkward conversation with them. He was passing by a group of marines, when one of them called him over. “Hey, what’s up Craig?” He turned his head, and saw it was Corporal Decree.
“Ah, how is it going Pleasure?” said Craig, as he changed his path to walk beside them, “I hope you had a nice slumber.”
Dome nodded, looking around the group, “Yeah, it was alright nothing out of the usual pal. Say, you mind telling us one of them uh, jokes you got?”
Craig smiled, as hardly any marine ever asked him that. “Of course Dome,” he paused a moment, grabbing one from his memory, “What do you call a group of organized cats?” he looked at each of the marine’s faces, and as none answered he finished, “A cat-astrophe!”
Dome humored Craig with a light laugh, and Craig nodded at the group, turning around and walking off. “Does he only know bad jokes?” said one of the marines. “They could be worse.” said Dome, watching him walk off.
Once he was outside the bridge, he put on a smile and walked inside. “Good morning Commander Baldwin.”
In front of him was a tallish man, with a beret over his bald head. “Ah, morning Craig, glad you kept the ship together for the small trip.”
“It was no big problem Commander, I was following my programming.”
“Yeah, well good job anyways. Keep it up.”
Craig nodded, as Baldwin turned back to his console, as Craig looked around the CIC. The Lieutenants were working hard, getting all their squads organized, and it was all a flurry of talking and moving, as they moved from console to console, and spoke to their squads over comms.
Craig had missed briefing, because he went down to medical to check upon the doctors to see if they required a hand in anything. “Professor Campbell, good to see you!” Craig said, ‘happy’ to see the man with the big bushy green hair.
“Craig! Glad to see you too!” said Joe, smiling upon seeing Craig, and getting up to shake his hand, “I hope the quiet didn’t bother you while we were all asleep.”
“It was quite alright, in fact, I would go as far as my programming allows, and say I enjoyed it.” Joe nodded at his comment, and went back to working on chems for the marines.
During the rest of the operation, Craig tried to make himself as useful to the marines as possible, whether it be helping Ensign Harding in requisitions, or working with the technicians on the generators. All the time, he would be in a ‘happy mood’ working alongside other people and, if asked, would crack a small joke.
Once all the marines had come up from the operation, once more the casualty list came in. Three dead from terrorist planetside, two privates and a corporal. As Craig aided Professor Broccoli in morguing the dead, he looked down upon the soulless faces of the marines.
He began thinking to himself, “Three more dead, and three more will take their places. Assuming I get damaged or broken, I too will be replaced. I-” he was interrupted mid-thought.
“Craig? You alright buddy?” Joe asked, elbowing him.
Craig looked up at Joe, and smiled at him. “Of course Professor. Let us finish this and get ready for cryo.”
Close Mission Log; 06
How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)? As I stated and clarified in my previous application, a genuinely happy synthetic, who will try to keep his the marines uppity with his terrible corny jokes. As shown earlier in the story, be less formal around marines, and more formal around command.
I would preferably aid more in Engineering and Requisitions then Medical, as I have SOME experience in medical but not a lot. I've gone MT quite a few times and cargo jobs used to be some of my favorites.
How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO) I've gone every role at least once, but i've never exactly excelled in medical roles other than combat medic. I've gone command quite a few times, and same with MT. Recently, i've played a few rounds of command.
Why should we whitelist you? I may not be the most serious marine at times, but I'd like to think I do some pretty serious RP at times. As much as I mess around, I always enjoy playing CM. It's been a different experience for me, from all the other games I used to play in my day. My activity on the server is pretty high, as this is one of the games I mainly play. Along with that, my experience in most support roles could come in handy, if perhaps there's an Engineer who doesn't exactly know what he's doing. I also enjoy playing as the Corporate Liaison, which is mainly an RP role.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)? I haven't, I have been warned for some things, but not banned.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why? Not as far as I know, as I rarely play other servers.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline? I do.
