The unmistakable smell of gunpowder and faint traces of blood hung in the air; their presence taking a backseat to the heavy amounts of screaming and gunfire coming from every direction. Marines filled up the room, many wounded laying on the Church’s pews around while the rest took positions near any openings to the outside. Had it not been for the lights on their personal armor, much of the Church would have fallen under darkness.
“J-J-Jesus fucking Christ! M-my ARM!” Cried out a Marine who grimaced in pain as he clutched the stump that used to be his right arm.
“Oh f-fuck. I can’t breath man!”
“Who the hell’s burst firing with AP rounds?!”
“Command, we need some more god-damn medics down here! A Synth and a single medic isn’t enough to keep every guy here stable!”
The cries of the wounded marines and screaming of an angered SNCO filled up the room, only serving to add on to the hysteria and chaos of the ongoing battle. With the large quantity of wounded marines in front of him, John and the other medic in the room would pace around, triaging those with the heaviest amount of damage first. Those with missing arms, a shattered head, or shot out kidney would survive for a time...however, those with their brains missing bits and arteries internally spewing blood were a different matter.
John would set upon operating on a Marine laying on a pew, skillfully cutting his chest open and retracting the man’s sternum to fix a cut open artery. The dark skin of John’s arms and suit’s sleeves were stained by the blood that, unsurprisingly, came from having your hands inside another man’s chest; a problem he’d soon solve with a spray of Surgery Cleaner. Another Marine laying down next to the one being operated on would cough up blood, though look at John with a smile on his face.
“H-heh. Is this where you give me a p-proverb, old man?”
In the midst of attaching the anesthetic tank and medical mask onto the Marine speaking to him, John would be less focused on looking at him and more focused on making sure he had adjusted everything correctly,
“Lives are like rivers, Ramirez. Eventually they go where they must. But you needn't worry, your river does not end here.”
John would turn on Ramirez’s internals, giving him one last look before the Marine faded into a deep sleep. Ramirez soon went limp and John got to work on him, opening up his chest to fix up the result of a Dragunov round passing through a person’s right lung.
As he conducted surgery on the poor soldier, John would focus in on his buzzing earpiece, hearing the Commander’s voice over anyone else’s,
“Ensign Wilson, begin prioritizing med-evacs over your bombing runs. Our squads might be without heavier firepower for a while but Charlie has a body pile’s worth of wounded in the town’s Church; and we are not about to lose all of those men. John, I assume you heard me?”
“Of course Commander. We’ll begin the evac process immediately.”
Cauterizing Ramirez’s chest and waking him up, John would call over the Medic and relay to him the CO’s orders. The Medic would give him a nod and get to work on setting up the Med-evac stretchers.
A Marine with a splint around his head would slowly look up at John and the Medic as they began loading people near the two Med-evac stretchers available, a look of shock on his face.
“A-are we actually getting out of this hell-hole?”
Sensing the relief the man must have been feeling, John would develop a soft smile and walk over to the Marine, kneeling down beside him.
“You have all fought well today. The fact that you are all breathing around me is a testament to the sheer will you possess. Your pain is great but soon; soon it will end. We will be getting all of you out of here safely, that I can promise you.”
The soldier smiled and put his head down, keeping still after to avoid bringing more pain to his battered head. There wasn’t much to say after John’s words and the room would fall silent, barring the sounds of the Med-evac stretcher sending wounded up onto the Alamo. A buzz from John’s earpiece would alert him of a transmission from the PO,
“Critically wounded received. Heading back to the Almayer.”
Another voice would ring out in John’s earpiece, coming from Delta’s Squad Leader.
“Sir, we’ve got a count of 30 insurgents surrendering here. Our Scout snuck past the frontlines and got a positive read on the rest of the enemy retreating back out of the town.”
“Copy Squad Lead. Hold for now.”
After that, the Commander’s voice would not be heard for a small while, not until a batallion-wide announcement was issued through general comms.
”We have reports of the enemy’s retreat from the AO as well as the capture of a large number of hostile forces. Squads, begin reinforcing perimeters around the town and evacing those wounded. The battle might be won for now but those insurgents are still out there, convincing civilians to believe in a wrong cause.
Oorah, men.”
“Uh, Commander?” Rang out the voice of the Chief Engineer. “I just passed by Medbay to fix up one of the ORs and it looks like a lot of the Squad Engineers were targeted by enemy snipers. Do I have permission to send some MTs down?”
“Of course. John, are there any more Marines in critical condition?”
“Negative, sir. We’ve extracted those we were unable to operate on.”
“Perfect. I want you to begin helping with constructing a small outpost in the town square. MTs will be landing soon to assist you.”
“Understood, sir. And; if I may add something? Charlie’s only medic has done a phenomenal job at helping me stabilize the wounded in the Church. I’d personally recommend him for a medal for his enduring work in keeping everyone alive long enough to be evacuated or operated on.”
“We’ll see to it that he’s rightfully recognized for his actions, John. Godspeed.”
“Always, sir.”
Quiet, tranquil, and possessing an appearance of a man who’s seen it all, John’s personality is one reminiscent of an old mentor. With the vast knowledge Synthetics have; the act of sharing advice and wise words to troubled soldiers is one that comes easily to John. He enjoys the presence of soldiers fresh out of boot camp as they’re often the ones who need the most advice.
I plan on having John favor Medical-related tasks more than others so that I could help Marines avoid being stuck in Medbay limbo and get back to the round.

I’m familiar with most of the support roles in the game, minus Researching. Even though I’m familiar with how they work, I always make sure to have important guides open in the background in case I forget something or make a mistake and can’t figure out what it is.
Below I have the roles ranked from most comfortable to least
TLDR; Medical, Engineering, Command, Science
Medical: By far, the best role I can play out of any support roles. Squad Medic was my first non-standard marine role and I moved on to CMO and Doctor after. I’ve done my share of field surgeries so doing surgeries without a scan isn’t new to me.
Engineering: After the survivor buff a while ago, I’ve started playing Squad Engineer and CE after me and 2 other survivors died from not knowing how to hack a door. Never again.
Command: I’ve played SO a few times and know how to work the Overwatch console. I’ve dived into being an XO during a couple of low pop rounds and, although I’m no Sun Tzu when it comes to military strategies, I’m fairly competent. I’ve played RO to know how it works and know the basics of being a transport Pilot.
Science: I have little experience with Science on CM as it hasn’t interested me as much as other roles. I have however dabbled in it on other servers, though not very much.
I’m an avid writer/rper, having roleplayed on some sites in the past. I know that being able to write long pieces doesn’t translate to in-real time rping but, I believe that in my time on CM, I’ve shown that I can bring some fun or at the least, interesting roleplay to those I play with. If I were to be accepted as a Synth, I’d understand that my roleplaying would be held to a higher standard and that I’d need to always act like a Synth before anything else.
