Phillis- New body, Old 'Mind' Synth Application.

Post by Sargash » 17 Aug 2017, 04:43

Byond ID: Sargash

Marine Name: Lillian Hook I play aliens about 60% to 70% of the time if I'm not there on round start.

Name/Designation of the Synth Character you’re requesting to use:Phillis

Are you familiar with the Synthetic Programming and Guidelines? I am familiar, yes.

Synthetic Character Story:
Commander: "So, Weyland Yutani has given you to my ship. What can you do?"
Phillis: "Sir. I'm capable of performing all civilian roles at, or above acceptable standards. I do not make mistakes resulting from fatigue, being hungry, and I do not get stressed."

Commander: "Alright, that's well and good. But this isn't a civilian vessel."

Phillis: "As I am sure you know. Us Artificial persons are not capable of using complex weapons against other human life. For military roles though, I am able to strip, load, clean and assemble all weapons we come across. From a standard M4A3 pistol, to the M56 Smartgun, and it's more complicated systems. I am even familiar with your Mateba sir. Or the weapons that colonist, pirates, or even the UPP may use. I am capable of using high-yield explosives, making battlefield fortifications under fire."

Commander: "Impressive. So you're like a Jack of all trades?"

Phillis: "Commonly that phrase is followed with 'Master of none.' Synths given to the USCM are in fact, masters of many of the jobs that may be needed."

Commander: "Alright. So you can do combat roles, but are unable to harm humans. What good are you then in a fight?"

Phillis: "I am capable of harming humans. I am incapable of using firearms, or any complex weapon. If a rebelling colonist were to engage me with a sword, I am more than capable of disarming them. The lives of the USCM, and the civilians aboard the Almayer are paramount to me."

Commander: "Do you have any 'experience?' With combat, and morale issues of troops on the line."

Phillis: "I have been in many combat situations. None the limbs you see here are what I was originally made with. Many of my parts have been damaged, lost, or otherwise destroyed multiple times. But I do not die, allowing me to do dangerous jobs that may result in the death of a marine. Defusing a bomb. Negotiating with hostile parties. Employing me in your service can save many of your marines from harm. As for actual combat missions, I've had experience dealing with the UPP, and many rebel colonist groups. My previous assignment often had me dealing with rebels, and dissenters more than anything else."

Commander: "So from the sounds of it, you've been through actual combat. What happened to your previous crew?"

Phillis: "A group of rebels took me hostage during negotiations for the lives of captured marines. They were angered that I was a synth, and proceeded to physically destroy my entire body. They did not know about the memory unit, thus allowing me to be recovered afterwards, and placed into a new, upgraded body. But, by the time they had salvaged my data, my old station had already been issued a replacement. So they assigned me to your ship. And I hope to serve it well, sir."

How do you intend to play your Synth: Phillis will be played as an almost overly kind, and generous synthetic. They value human life high above their own, having given into the stigma that synthetics are not truly human. They do their best to hide the fact that they are synthetic, often finding any mention of it to be cause a twinge of sadness.
Quirk: May often times over react to injuries, in a poor attempt to emulate pain to appear more human. (If it's possible. I'd like to make a list of Quirks, and randomly choose from them every round I may be a synth.)

How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO) Very familiar. I am capable of performing all roles on the Almayer, on combat roles on the ground. From surgery, to building the engine, to telling coordinating squads effectively even performing as an MP or PO. When I play as a human, I often prefer ship-side roles.

Why should we whitelist you? I believe I would include a quality Role playing experience. I'm perfectly happy to spend an hour picking up burger wrappers, or cleaning up empty magazines around the FoB. In fact, I find some of the most is role playing on the ground, or on the Almayer.

Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)? As far as I'm aware I haven't been banned before.

Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why? I was banned on paradise, for a week which was repealed in less than 24 hours for killing a clown that was trying to kill the ERT when Xenomorphs were on the station... The Trialmin didn't know the clown was being aggressive to the ERT when the ban was instituted.

Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline? I fully understand my restrictions, and the constraints involved in this role. I've no plans on doing anything borderline with the rules, and hope to in general improve every bodies experience in CM, whether I'm whitelisted or not.

+1 from me, I feel like you've captured the spirit of what a synth should be here.

I run Linux on all of my machines and actively reject Windows. I have some cool dotfiles up on Github for configuring some of my favorite stuff.

You need to play Marines more, build up an RP character and show off your RP in-game.
I have no idea who you are and your character isn't standing out.

Denied.
