Benl8561's Synthetic application: Eli

Post by stovetopcarp4 » 17 Nov 2017, 13:10

Byond ID: Benl8561

Marine Name (so we know who you are; if you play alien mostly, state that here):
Luke Basinger (Sometimes combat medic but mostly doctor) Emmanuel King (The character I rarely use but mostly for marine when I do) I play alien quite a bit but I would say half and half for each.

Name/Designation of the Synth Character you’re requesting to use (Follows common naming rules, and requires a first name with no last name): Eli

Examples of acceptable names: James, Mason, Xavier, Felix, Otto, Allan, Jessica
Examples of unacceptable names: Obama, Jesus, King, Dragon, Godly, Snyper, Circuits

Are you familiar with the Synthetic Programming and Guidelines (viewtopic.php?f=57&t=14417)?
I am I've looked over then a few times

Synthetic Character Story (An ADEQUATE description and story of your Synthetics actions and involvement in a previous mission onboard the Almayer):

Eli was helping maintain the ship Almayer well undergoing a fairly lengthy journey. Close to all of the crew were in cryosleep at the time. Nothing of too much interest was going on however for the time being.

Eli was patrolling the hallways near the cryosleepers however he noticed a rather odd sound coming from one of the cryosleeper rooms. He made haste into the room to investigate. One of the sleepers appeared to be malfunctioning.

Eli gave a large sigh on the way mumbling to himself "Great to probably another trickster MT"
A small sort of friend group of the Marines had been rather ticking off the MT's with multiple incidents causing them extra work. The MT's had worked out a small exploit with the sleepers causing the user a similar condition to prolong use of the sleepers.
It caused them great sickness and pain for much shorter period of time. Command had been cracking down on the MT's for this but no one in particular had been punished due to lack of evidence.

Eli arrived at the malfunctioning sleeper to notice that things seemed much much worse than usual.

The screaming began. The sleeper had cracked open with a female marine inside. She was in quite the panic. At tube had busted open inside the sleeper leaking a thick a liquid onto the marines arm.

Without a second thought Eli removed them from the sleeper swiftly but carefully. They did not seem to show much of a response as they seem to be in shock a reasonable expression for the situation.
Eli Did not have much but a simple med pack on them making the situation already hard to deal with harder.

But he did what they could. With a comforting voice Eli said to the woman "It's going to be all right to try to remain calm I'm going to fix this as quickly as I can. I promise you you're in good hands."

Eli had already begun to work before they even began speaking. He looked at the arm quickly noticing that it had quite extensive third degree burns covering it almost entirely. It was unlikely that he was going to be able to recover the arm he felt somewhat bad for the woman.

He decided to focus on how the woman was feeling. Luckily he did prioritize carrying a quite powerful pain medication in his kit. Not much else in the kit was useful at the time. He applied the injector to her left thigh. The woman quickly calmed down.

Eli spoke to the woman in a once again comforting tone. "I will return shortly I must collect a roller bed to transport you." she muttered. "thank you" Eli ran and ran as fast as he could go which was quite speedy. On the way Eli reported over the radio now that he had time.
"Attention the vary few of you that are out of cryo. There's a woman in one of the cryosleeper rooms who has undergone some trauma. I am assisting them as we speak please refrain from touching them or transporting them."

Eli arrived at an empty med-bay the woman was quite lucky that Eli was around. He was the only medically trained thing awake at the time. He swiftly located a advanced burn kit and roller bed and made his way back. Once again as fast as he could.

The woman appeared panicked once again looking at her arm. He swiftly lifted the woman onto the roller bed securing them. then said "I'm going to treat the burns but even with the medication that you're on this is going to hurt quite extensively. Try to remain calm and stay still." she Nodded. Eli began to apply the kit he had brought.

She screamed in pain. He was swift it did not take long. After some work he began to transport her to the medical bay.

Upon arriving to a still empty medical bay Eli decided he should have some assistance after stabilizing the individual. He radioed to the crew that was active. "Can somebody please awaken a doctor from cryosleep to assist me with the situation mentioned earlier. send them to med-bay." Somebody radioed back "on it!" Eli replied "thank you" Shortly after a doctor arrived.

They seemed quite upset that they had been woken and put to work so suddenly. Quickly with some mild discomfort Eli explained the situation to the male doctor. The doctor mildly snapped at Eli telling him "just GO! I don't need you for anything!" Eli seemed upset But he did not say anything to further upset the individual.

He also wanted to avoid confrontation as he is quite bad with those things. Eli began walking out. But as he was exiting the woman shouted. "thank you SO much Eli!" He left without a word.

After the incident was heard of among the crew the MT's never seemed to tamper with the sleepers again.

The woman was fine afterwards however the arm was replaced with a prosthetic as a cheaper option to the alternative.

How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)?
The main support role I plan to focus on is medical that includes the advanced stuff. Eli is somewhat socially awkward.

How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO)
I've always been primarily focused on medical. However I do know quite a bit about engineering and some about science. Working on expanding what I know about science on this code currently.
Why should we whitelist you?

I've always had a love for role playing synthetics and I've always found the way that the Alien universe did synthetics quite intriguingly. I do think I'll make some interesting RP out of this
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?
I have not been banned in the last month nor ever on this server.

Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
Nope. Worst I've ever gotten is coincidentally synthetic bans. But that is probably due to me close to entirely playing synthetic. This only really happened when I was very new to the high RP seen.

Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline?
that I do fully.

Just wanted to make a quick note at the bottom.
I'm quite open to all feedback and I'm honestly not expecting this application to get through on the first or second ago. I know the story got a bit long that's my bad I love detail.

I don't have time to read your story right now, but I'll leave some feedback later. On my first pass you should do some better formatting while you still can, having a nice looking application goes a long way. It's hard to tell where one line ends and another begins with the way you have it currently.

Oh, also this is your first post on the forums which gives you roughly a 91% chance of denial.

I have an old account but I hadn't played on the server in sometime.... Forgot the account wasn't even using the same e-mail that I am now at the time. Also not much for really talking about stuff on forms in general. Also I don't think that the amount of posts that I have made should be taken into account if it's a good application.

You're posts allow the staff to get a better feel for how you are as a community member. So yeah they do judge it whether its fair or not.

Half of the application process is the staff knowing how you act both IC and OOC. You could be the best roleplayer in the world but if you act like Aoi Bell on the forums they're going to deny your application. Generally speaking people who are on the whitelists are fairly active and experienced players and people who have literally no posts on the forums are more often than not newer and probably not yet ready for a whitelisted position.
