Frontline Medical tent, Africa, circa 2242.
A sturdy but slim woman with a long black ponytail hair, with jet blue eyes and wearing a slightly bloodied synthetic standard uniform is seen hunched over a roller-bed. The hands, wearing white latex gloves, is bloodied, but moves meticulously and gracefully as if she was directing a symphony. Lucky are synths, to be able to focus under any pretense of combat; drowned are the sounds of misery, bullets and pain as her eyes are solely locked on her patient- carefully administering precise surgery. All she could hear at the time, was the patients heartbeat and breathing. She rarely blinks, nor sweats, nor gives a single inch of fear. Her speech is almost always analytical, oft confused with sarcastic remarks. Most men and women in the Marine Corps would find her awkward; a sociopath even. She was different than most synths; always having trouble finding the right thing to say or do when it comes to human interactions, struggling to find the correct solution. Her focus and ingenuity, however, is as sharp as an eagles eye, is able to examine even the slightest detail at any given scenario, which makes her invaluable for situations that require a steady hand and a quick mind. The Weyland-Yutani gold embroidered patch on her jumpsuit dimly shines right under her flashlight.
Her hand, holding a professional cautery, gently seals the incision point made on the marines left leg. She then closes her eyes, and lets out a sigh.
In an instant, the sounds of bullets, explosions and chaotic radio chatter fill the air. A large breeze swoops through the tent, blowing paperwork all across the dirt floor. Her patient, a young man with blonde short hair still knocked out from the anesthesia, lies peaceful on the rollerbed, medical mask attached to the face. Clara ponders for a moment, her hand hovering on the medical mask, ready to remove it from his face. Then suddenly, an explosion erupts not too far from the tent, causing Clara to open a flap to peek outside.
The scene is a tragic and tangled mess. Broken and disgruntled Marines and a sandbag wall are all that separate Clara from a platoon of daring UPP. A stray bullet whizzes by (to which Clara reacts unfazed, where most men and women would take cover immediately) and strikes a hole through the medical tent, barely missing the patient. Another bullet whizzes by and strikes a Marine hunched over the sandbag wall, blood and body falling over.
"I-I'm hit!"
Shouts the unnamed Marine. His associate, drags him out of view leaving a trail of blood behind the medical tent whilst his other friends provide deafening cover fire.
Just immediately after, the roaring sound of a dropship can be heard from a distance, progressively getting louder and louder as it approaches, and with it a gale of wind. The main flap door unzips, and a Staff Officer runs in, face in stress and sweat, looking Clara dead in the eye. "RIPCORD- RIPCORD- WE ARE GETTING OUT! GET THAT MAN IN THE DROPSHIP AND MOVE IT SYNTH!"
He unholsters a M44 Service Revolver to which Clara focuses for a second; 6 shot cylinder, smooth metallic finish, grooved but worn handle indicating repeated use on the field. The SO rushes back out. Clara instinctively grabs the surgery kit and the medical dufflebag and quickly packs it in, and grabs the roller bed handle and runs out the medical tent, patient in tow.
Everything is in slow motion for Clara. Men and women running for their lives, abandoning the post and trenchline, gunning for the now-landed dropship which is open. Men and women piling in the dropship like it was a black friday sale. Explosions, bodies falling, bullets flying. Out of the corner of Clara's eyes, a UPP Squad is taking advantage of the chaos. Vaulting over the once-Marine-claimed trenchline, they open fire on the retreating marines, causing numerous casualties.
But Clara continued on, without fear, without nerve, without hesitation. She was different than the rest. She always had trouble fitting in. But she knew what to do. She looks behind her, her patient in tow, peacefully sleeping still under anesthesia, seeming like nothing was going to happen to him the next day. She looks forward, and immediately, a UPP Soldier blocks her path, aiming a rifle at her head. Clara stops in her midtracks, patient still in tow. The masked man orders Clara to get down and surrender. Clara drops her dufflebag, and a sharpened scalpel falls out. She looks at it, but cannot find a protocol for using a scapel in a self-defense scenario. She was never programmed to use it as a weapon. The UPP soldier notices the unconscious man, and aims at him instead, finger on the trigger. Instinctively, Clara moves in front of the line of fire, and takes a burst fire to her chest, sending her crashing to the floor, her servos and sight line slightly diminishing by the second. Her gaze remained on the man on the roller-bed as she falls to the floor, and her facial emotion remain unchanged; calm and collected despite receiving structural damage. She puts a hand over her chest to stop the overflow, and now looks at the UPP Soldier Aiming a rifle right at her face. Clara analyzes the weapon despite the situation. Type 71 Pulse Rifle, chambered in a deadly 7.62x39mm. Finished with a sleek tan unscathed paint job, indicating first time usage on the field. A fresh PMC, she decides.
"You cannot save them all, but you can save what you can."
Clara said. Although hesitant at first, The UPP Soldier slowly tightens the finger around the trigger. BANG.
The UPP soldier flies backwards, his helmet falling off and his body landing on the floor with a clunky thud due to the armor. The UPP soldier lies still, and Clara senses no breathing from him. Clara could feel hands grabbing her shoulder, dragging her away, her gaze still focused on the roller-bed man. Moments after, a pair of marines rush out to her side, grabbing the rollerbed, her gaze locked onto the man as he rolls away from view until her neck could not turn anymore. She then looks up to her savior, the Staff Officer, holding the same revolver, with smoke coming out of the barrel, indicating a fresh shot. "Well said, Clara."
Friendly CAS makes strafe runs nearby, causing UPP to retreat temporarily. He grunts as he heaves her in the dropship, glad that they both made it in time.
The rear door of the dropship closes with everyone possible inside, and lifts off almost immediately, an engineer tending to her damage. Five minutes later, Clara quickly scans the dropships occupants. Broken, battered, dirty; their heads hanging downwards. One marine crying in the corner. Almost all their faces are faces of defeat and shame. Clara glances to a marine next to her, defeated and resigned. Without any thought, her hand moves to the marines hand, offering condolence.
"We will get them... next time." Clara plainly says. The marine looks at Clara and simply nods and smiles. She understood now. It was at that point that she began to learn how to sympathize. Clara then gets a small chance to see the sky before her through a window; a duststorm impending over the distance.
She then blinks.
How do you intend to play your Synth (as in, describe HOW you will act/play your Synth and what support roles you’ll mainly focus on, what is your synthetics quirk)?
Much like the storyline, Clara is a very detail-oriented individual. While most synths have a quirky accent or ability, hers is simply the ability to be analytical to the highest professional degree. Of course, this comes at a cost; her social understanding skills have "taken a hit" because of how unfiltered and analytical Clara can become, and this leads to most marines simply shunning her because of her inability to fit into a casual day-to-day aboard the ship. In medical terms, if she were an actual human being, she would be a sort of "Savant"; gifted in working skills, but lacking in social standings, so to speak. But because of this lack of social understandings, she has been able to commit, focus and complete almost all tasks to the highest proficiency, clearly surpassing human abilities. Because of this, she is highly desired for her invaluable analytical skills and perseverance. She will not get in the way of any Marine or Individual despite her calculations, and will make the best call according to who is in charge.
Her tenancies to analyze her fellow marines and components are her main weakness, as she sometimes does it, disregarding the setting she is in sometimes, leading her to be seen as brash to most marines. She, however, doesn't see herself as superior or more gifted than her fellow colleagues, in fact, the reason why she does it is simply because she is curious and wants to understand functions more.
For her roles, she is capable of almost all human related tasks required of the people aboard the ship in a supportive role, minus combat. Engineering, Medical, and Cargo are all programmed well within her, and still continues to expand her database to this day.
She seeks to give her all to the Almayer, to prove that she can be as human as the rest, just watch for analyzing.
How familiar are you with support roles? (ie; Medical, MT, Science, SO)
Familiar with all.
Why should we whitelist you?
I believe I can bring a high level of quality roleplay to the server with a synthetic for a few key reasons: Enjoyment for others, Teamwork, and Roleplay. Those three are pretty much the cornerstones of my application, and I hope you all could have seen that.
I will be honest, yes, I am currently under probation, but that is even more the reason to maintain a high level of professionalism with a synthetic. Even now, any simple slip-up will most likely cause me to return to a banned state.
Much like a Synthetic, I must remain intangible at all times regarding my own scenario with the probation, as I continue to aim higher to prove myself worthy for a synthetic spot. I feel my leadership roles as a Staff Officer, CMO and Squad Medic during my probation here can help you all realize that I am in it for the long run. I have not once abused my position since my unbanning, and I only want to help continually support this community as a whole.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I know you all are busy with whats been happening lately.
Have you been banned from CM in the last month for any reason (we will check, and lies may result in immediate denial)?
Not in the last month, although I have been banned last year, recently unbanned.
Are you currently banned from any other servers and if so, why?
No.
Do you understand that any player - donor or otherwise - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our rules or the Synthetic Programming Guideline?
Yes.
