Well everyone, I've been deluding myself for a long time. My activity has waned continuously since being fired from the development team, especially without being able to complete and release the map I was working on. For those on staff, I doubt this will be much of a surprise to see this announcement, considering how absent I've been. I tried finding inspiration again in creating fun events for people and found it in making the Freedom/Corpse Guard events for awhile before I was accused of creating a meta-group with it and the events were shut down. That . . . definitely hurt and didn't do much to help my motivation to get back into the game.

I'd like to say before I go any further that this topic isn't supposed to be a salty staff member saying some spiteful words before retiring. I'm merely explaining the reasons for my departure.

With a combination of all the above putting me into a pretty long term-rut in terms of inspiration and will to play the game, my activity has of-course plummeted and heads have taken notice. I appreciate the alternatives that were suggested in regards to myself not fulfilling the activity requirements for an admin, but I've deluded myself for too long that I can still be as dedicated to help CM as I was two years ago when I started. I'm an old relic in comparison to the majority of the guys on staff now and while I like the guys and get along with them well, I miss a lot of the old guys a lot more. Even the older players, and those with infamous reputations, I really miss them all. I miss the earlier days and the simpler times. Recent events have made me feel even older, with both the recent changes in management, the drama, and the drastic rule changes. I always knew that I there is a time in every group where you don't belong anymore but I just didn't want to accept for the longest time, I suppose.

My last note and the final reason for my departure is what has put the nail in the coffin on my determination to try to stick it out and stay on CM Staff. An old admin from here and friend, WestHybrid has recently asked me to make a map for a new server he is working on. When we discussed everything and came up with all the ideas, I realized that I felt . . . happy again. I felt excited and wanted to work on it immediately and upon realizing that I really hadn't experienced that feeling in the last six-ish months since I was fired from the dev team here, I knew that I just wasn't having fun here anymore. I wasn't excited for anything and felt creatively bankrupt for inspiration or drive.

Ha, I've been rambling for a bit haven't I? Well, I can't think of anything more to say, I suppose. I'll miss all of you guys and I apologize for my failure to be motivated enough to help this community and stick with it.
