Staff Changes

We're making a few changes to our staff structure:

• SLC is getting a promotion.
• Jerkface, NGGJamie, Emerald Blood, and SLC are getting a significant bump in forum, Slack, Discord, and server permissions and are also renamed to "Manager" - Mentor Manager, Mod Manager, Admin Manager, and Recruitment Manager, respectively.
• The "Senior" rank will be a new staff rank that can be given out by the respective manager to any upstanding staff members in their group.
• Jerkface and NGGJamie are switching roles - Jerkface is now handling Mentors as the Mentor Manager and NGGJamie will handle Mods as the Mod Manager.
• SLC's focus will be on recruiting, training, and promoting all Trials - Mod and Admin. He did an excellent job getting everyone up-to-speed on how things can and should be done and his whip only hurts for a moment.
• I will be performing the duties of Staff Manager by managing the new Managers. I think that makes me a Manager Manager Vice-Host. Whatever. I suspect it will be temporary until we iron everything out and if I give power back to the republic, as it were.

These additional tasks are assigned but available to all Managers should the need arise for help in any areas:

These are good changes, and a much better organizational structure than what we had before.

However, I would recommend leaving staff reports in the hands of either rahl or apop. They are clearly in the best position of judging what staff behavior is acceptable, as they have proven with feweh's original removal.

This is great. This alone makes the thoughts of me wishing to return much higher. Gives everyone clear, written out, goals and objectives and duties. I'm looking forward to what comes of it but currently it is looking great, and hopefully a combination of people will result in more getting done and more transparency throughout the staff team as a whole.

I like the changes except for one, the "Recruitment Manager" role.
I don't think you need someone to specifically focus on those jobs.
The mods apps should always get general feedback from all staff aswell as players and when it comes to the final call if the mod app is approved or not it should be the Mod Manager's job, and I mean Jamie only have one job listed right now.
For staff reports I think the logs being pulled should be pulled by the Manager of the person who is being reported and if they do need help then just ask an admin to pull logs for you and I mean hey, after you spend a good bit of time pulling logs for someone you'll for sure wanna watch them closely after they made you spend all that time that is of course if they don't get removed for the report. When it comes to the final verdict that should come down to Rahl as it says he is now the "Staff Manager". It's kinda ironic too that the guy who just had a very controversial staff report is now the manager of staff reports.

To finish this off about the comment of "SLC is also incharge of recruiting, training, and promoting all Trials" that should come mainly back to the Mod Manager again, if SLC wants to help out let him, I'd hope all staff are helping newer staff out overall but why are all of the Senior Mod's previous jobs being given to SLC as the Recruitment Manager rather then the Mod Manager?

I think all this was certainly discussed interally and that is what everyone agreed on

If Jamie Jerk and Emerald decided that it is better to give all this to a separate person - then there is probably an agreement on it

Feweh had too many responsibilities to be replaced by one individual decently, so those being broken down across the board is is quite reasonable in that regard. SLC taking over in regards to recruiting also frees up time for the new duties to be handled. And white lists and appeals can move along at a more steady pace now hopefully.

Excellent changes, it's quite nice to see everything spread out a little.

It'll probably go through some teething as we get used to the system, but overall it looks better in the long term.

Pretty much this exactly. Why put someone who's been the target of drama (which wasn't constructed by feweh), compared to one of the oldest, most trusted staff members, who I don't think has EVER been the subject of a report or a complaint?

I like kavlo's idea of having managers to pull logs on their own staff, but rahl or apop should really have the final say in these kinds of things.
