Staunching Wounds
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Make grabbing yourself stop bleeding wounds.
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Give people with no medical supplies a way to stop the blood pouring from their body.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): I know it isn't a massive concern but it's an annoying one. If you have no gauze or tricord and you get an open wound that's bleeding, your view goes dark, your character gets much slower, and you feel dizzy. Just make using grab intent on yourself staunch your wounds by applying pressure to them. It would need implemented much like CPR where you would need to staunch a wound several times over a course of time depending on severity to make them stop bleeding but not remove any brute damage.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Code in another use for grab intent.

Re: Staunching Wounds
I'd like this if there was an increase in bloodloss. (Not mechanically, but the amount of blood that you see on sprites and falling to the ground)

If this was a thing, apop with a sniper rifle would remove more marines per round than devouring ever did.Butterrobber202 wrote:I want headshots to be a thing.

-1 unless it slows them down and takes a bit of time, and only working on limbs. Can't really 'grab' a headwound with your hand, same with your chest.

Re: Staunching Wounds
+1. Baystation apparently has this now; makes perfect sense to me. I don't think it should take multiple tries, but it should occupy the selected hand you used to do it (which is a pretty significant drawback) until the wound heals enough to no longer need staunching.

I would like to point out that bay has this and since the code was originally bay I doubt it would be hard to implement.

+1 This sounds great.
Under our lisence, unless we got 100% permission from the original coder, we'd need to code it from the ground up.ty55101 wrote:I would like to point out that bay has this and since the code was originally bay I doubt it would be hard to implement.

...you're literally just putting your hand over the wound and applying pressure,it could probably be done on the chest and head.Lucius Jones wrote:-1 unless it slows them down and takes a bit of time, and only working on limbs. Can't really 'grab' a headwound with your hand, same with your chest.

I suppose it isn't a guaranteed method of survival if you get hurt, sort of a way to prolong the time you have before you can get help.

Re: Staunching Wounds
+1 If it occupies the hand slot like a grab, and it should slow down bleeding temporarily until properly treated.
I treated a marine in the field with a sliced open chest just yesterday (no idea how he got it...), by lighting my cig and cauterizing the cut before stopping the bleeding with a trauma kit as a medic. Pretty fun stuff. It's the small details that counts sometimes =)
