Aliens able to fight back when Stunned?
Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Aliens being able to fight even when downed is cheeky. For example, when a hunter/Runner/Whatever else charges/pounces a marine, misses and hits a wall/object, they get stunned (like they always do) The Xeno falls to the ground, like it would when it's in crit (except it isn't) and if a Marine goes to finish it off with Melee rather than shooting it, the Alien can still fight back and even tear off limbs/kill the Marine. REGARDLESS of it being stunned, if ANY Human is 1 tile NEAR the Alien, it can still damage them. (Since this happen in a earlier round today with a Hunter)
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): When a Alien makes a mistake with pouncing/charging and get stunned, they should get hit with the consequences of screwing up. They cannot swipe/attack WHEN STUNNED. If an Alien screws up where it pounces, they deserve to get hit. Prevents some pretty bullshit kills.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): Make it so Stunned Aliens (Whether Downed/Stunned) cannot fight back until they get back up.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Coding? I don't think this would be very difficult.

I think this is a bug.

Well its not like they are stunned and more like just fall to the ground and struggling to get up.

I've always seen this happen, just never knew whether it was one of those SHHH DON'T TELL ANYONE bugs, or a already known issue. I would consider it a bug, if Aliens can fight back EVEN AFTER SCREWING UP their pounce next to a Marine or two, get stunned and still manage to kill them both if they're stupid enough to go for the Melee finish. Then I dunno what is even considered a bug anymore.

It doesn't work in crit. Only when you're knocked downJoe4444 wrote:except its the same with crit...where they are knocked unconscious
You will never be as bad as the baldie who picked up a tactical shotgun while a hunter was pouncing on top of a CMO for 4 seconds, with his only response being to pace around before being decap'd by said hunter. You are not Brett Kimple, and you never will be. You are not the reason why I regular MP.

I've seen it happen in crit many a time, unless they fixed it while I took a break.Crab_Spider wrote:It doesn't work in crit. Only when you're knocked down

It seriously doesn't work when you're in crit, I tried it a couple of times on WO, it didn't do much of anything.Joe4444 wrote:I've seen it happen in crit many a time, unless they fixed it while I took a break.

It works when you are stunned, not in crit, not sure where people got that from.

Re: Aliens able to fight back when Stunned?
As far as I've seen it only works during the last 1-2 ticks of stun from a missed pounce, not the entire time, oddly enough.

It is a bug, buuuut...
Why are the Marines trying to finish a highly dangerous close combat creature with acid blood off with melee?

It happens sometimes, you running around it, and it suddenly goes down, so you take the opportunity to shoot it point blank, before suddenly getting tackled and eatenBoltersam wrote:It is a bug, buuuut...

OR
When you stun it with a mine that it stepped on by accident right near you, and it suddenly starts killing you as you are stunned from the explosion as well
Stuff happens

Re: Aliens able to fight back when Stunned?
In both of those situations I can understand that it would be unintentional and it does happen. The OP, however, outlined a specific situation where a marine tries to finish off an acid-blooded, horrifying creature with claws and a tail strong enough to impale and lift a fully grown human, with melee, instead of using his gun to finish it off safely and from a distance.MrJJJ wrote:It happens sometimes, you running around it, and it suddenly goes down, so you take the opportunity to shoot it point blank, before suddenly getting tackled and eaten

Re: Aliens able to fight back when Stunned?
Well, there is no real excuse for that, nobody should be trying to melee something that is stunned, like ever, just gtfo away from it, especially if you already shot it down in ranged, i am not even sure why this happens honestly, which is the most confusing part.Boltersam wrote:In both of those situations I can understand that it would be unintentional and it does happen.
