Shoulder holsters, mortars, and extra places to store grenades.

Post by Obscurify » 01 Feb 2017, 02:29

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
1. Shoulder or thigh holsters should be available in every marine locker or at least at the RO, so you can carry an M4A3 (not a 44 magnum) but no extra ammo along with your M37 shotgun in the scabbard and your M41A on the chest.
2. The ability to store HEDP/Incendiary/Smoke grenades on your helmet.
3. Mortars that can be used and work like how the boilers are mobile artillery.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
1. It allows marines to have an absolute last resort option.
2. Same thing.
3. Boilers, which, when used as often as I see them, are very powerful and can easily grind down the marines with attrition. If the marines had a counter to this, albeit a limited and less powerful one, it might give the marines a little bit of an extra edge.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
1. If you want to prevent the xeno's from losing tons of hosts, perhaps the time needed to commit suicide could be upped and/or it takes time to unholster your pistol. It's the xeno's fault for not watching the hives, anyways.
2. In the movie, the HEDP grenades are incredibly small and fit right into the palm. You can literally fit a packaged burrito in there, why not a finger-sized grenade? It's already timely to remove things from your helmet.
3. The mortar, perhaps, could have a VERY limited amount of ammunition that is (either or) timely to load and has to be set up by engineers, and also only has the power of a hand grenade. Illumination rounds could also be possible, if we want to get creative.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): n/a

Mortar FF, i can see it now. Also grenades aren't small enough or light enough to fit to a helmet i'd say. +1 to Shoulder holsters and Mortars but the grenades get a -1.

Mortars are suggested on a weekly basis and always denied. I like the holster idea though!

But yeah, this probably isn't gonna work out from past experience

Haven't seen that post anywhere but if the long ones are that size then go for it but y'know the ones that look like your typical M67 fragmentation grenade? I don't know how you'd strap that to a helmet without maybe putting the band through the pin hole and carrying it there in which case doesn't sound like a entirely good idea. Actually, giving grenades to Marines is just a bad idea all together but sure, whatever, take my +1.

A few notes
No weapon suggestions, its in the do not post thread
We already have holsters, they take the belt slot
And one suggestion per thread is the usual agreement
