Welders have a small chance to cause eye damage.

Post by Dirty Old Harry » 26 Feb 2017, 06:49

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): So in the sprite for the welder as seen here: http://prnt.sc/edj09d, and here: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/lYG8qdGBLO8/hqdefault.jpg. The welder has a small visor that negates the need for eye protection and is also seen in Aliens: Isolation when Ripley uses a welder to cut through metal panels using said visor.

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): Makes prosthetics users more likely to pick up a welder for self repair.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): It shouldn't completely negate eye damage however, maybe make it so that the visor only prevents eye damage for a few uses before using it will cause small amounts of damage that increase with each use to balance it out. or perhaps make it so that if you're injured and stuttering then there's a chance you can fuck up and blind yourself.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): The lads in the code labs will get 'er done.

That one old man that USED to run around as Engineer building retarded table forts and developing relationships on a questionable level with sentry turrets. Now I run around as someone equally stupid, doing equally stupid shit as a Medic. Oh and Pookie, that's also me.

http://prntscr.com/grdigl I totally succeeded in that btw, it was a badass kick-flip.

Oh, i should also point out before someone tries to say it, people with prosthetics DO know how to repair and maintain the limb. Going under the idea that when you were issued a prosthetic that you were taught how to keep it running in the field by a Doctor or whatever. So yes, Engineers aren't the only ones that can repair your broken robo bits.

Wearing welding gear when you got that visor right on your welder seems dumb.
