Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary):
For each squad leader, have the name of the Orbital Beacon object changed to like "Charlie Orbital Beacon" or "Delta Orbital Beacon"
Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole):
If an SL dies and loses their beacon, or logs off and their beacon is gone and someone picks it up, they would not know which squad it belongs to and it saves the time for asking command for which beacon was activated and whatnot.
Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc):
It would just be more convenient in the case that an SL loses their beacon.
Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it):
I know it'd be hard to do since they're in the vendors, but maybe have them start on the tables instead?

Re: Unique Names for Squad Orbital Beacons
I thought the OB register which squad member activated it. For example, if the Alpha SL is dead one of the marines can take the OB and active it then command will be able to fire OB at Alpha beacon. Also remember that you can order more beacons through Requsition.
What's better that if someone active beacon then the beacon should record the name of the squad to avoid confusion.

This is pretty similar to a suggestion which made the OB function as a camera where the bridge could actually see what they are firing at. This isn't necessarily a duplicate but rather this change instead of making the OB work like a camera could be a nicer middle ground where the bridge wouldn't know precisely what they're firing at but would still have more coordination than the current system.

Re: Unique Names for Squad Orbital Beacons
Due to an incident, i +1 this heavily
Basically, got nested, but saw an active OB. called for BO to find that OB and fire it, with a y-3 offset. He did so, only for me to find out our long dead SL had thrown down his OB north of tablefort, and it FF'd a lot of marines. so, in order for that to not happen, +1 this.

Re: Unique Names for Squad Orbital Beacons
I don't give two shits whether you pick up an OB and can't ID the squad because anyone who has a squad ID can throw one, this actually makes me wanna -1 the idea because if charlie throw a delta beacon it'll read delta but have charlie signature if it's just a name change.
However as Jake just said when the OB is deployed it'd be nice to know who that one belongs to. I'd propose we give unique names to already thrown OBs as they cannot be retrieved.
I'd also appreciate squads being unable to deploy two until the first one is fired or choosing which OB to fire in the event that there is a new one and an unused live beacon. Same idea for supply beacons.
